for those unaware, 2014 artificers second level feature, infusions allowed you upgrade your gear or make your own magic items, in the 2024 version it's been replaced with replicate magic items, what happened to homunculus servant or repeating shots? were they made into magic items or something?
Homunculus servant is now a spell, and scales off spell slot. Pretty much every unique infusion is now being converting into generic magic items, and added to the magic item list. You still get a hand picked list of above power curve magic items you can use with the new feature, and now open to uncommon and rare wonderous items at higher levels. Most uncommon and higher rarity magic weapons and armor are not options under the new system (and weren't previously).
However, DDB is... well DDB. No telling how many of these will be broken on launch, or how long it'll take to sort out bugs.
That said, the revised rules have mostly fixed the issues with the UA revamp, but had not otherwise changed the feature list. So some things are better, others are still as bad as they were. IE Alchemist still sucks.
Basically you just get the item now instead of needing to find a sword/pouch/etc to slap the infusion onto. Practically speaking the result is the same, just removes any need to explain where the object came from.
