Up2ng mentioned a point which I would like to clarify. The Life Domain’s Disciple of Life feature is worded thus:
‘Also starting at 1st level, your healing spells are more effective. Whenever you use a spell of 1st level or higher to restore hit points to a creature, the creature regains additional hit points equal to 2 + the spell’s level.‘
This means any time you use a spell to heal a creature, it heals an additional number of hit points equal to 2 + the spell’s level. Since it doesn’t say spell slot, nor does it say cast, spells that heal over time (such as healing spirit, aura of vitality, and regeneration) are affected by the feature multiple times. When a feature says ‘cast’ or ‘spell slot’, it means that, as in the Order of Scribes feature, which relies on spell slot level rather than spell level.
There’s a semantic argument that your character has to do something in order for the feature to trigger (such as Aura of Vitality’s bonus action), but it’s unlikely that was the intent.
And before anyone says anything, clerics can get Aura of Vitality with a Strixhaven background.
If I have ally Bobby, and Bobby is at 2/15 HP. and I cast Aid on Bobby, Bobby would be at 9/20 HP. That’s healing 7 and raising 5. The life cleric features at mention here have no effect on Max HP (as far as I am aware) but rather on Current HP. Aid does two things! Raises Max HP by 5 and Heals by 5. Disciple of Life (I think it’s called) would increase the Heal by 2, but not the Raise. Right?
Discple of Life doesn't work withAid because it doesn't regain or restore hit points, it increase them.
While not official ruling, the Dev said on X that the spell doesn't heal.
@DMGRRHero Sorry to bother you, does a Life Cleric's Disciple of Life affect the spell Aid?
@JeremyECrawford Disciple of Life doesn't benefit the aid spell. The spell increases your hp maximum. It doesn't restore hp.
@JeremyECrawford Disciple of Life benefits healing—the restoration of hp you've lost. Aid doesn't heal you. It gives you more hp.
This is why it's not a healing spell. Your HP isn't being restored. It add HP to current and max values and when the spell ends, it removes them.
The wording of "increases current hit points" is specific. It's intended to allow you to still benefit even if your were at your max when it was cast on you, but isn't actually healing.

This is what concerned me. I HAVE BEEN SWAYED! Aid has no function with the Life Cleric features.
So, you're saying that Aid dropping can knock you out? Let's say you have 3 HP when the duration of Aid runs out. Would you then drop to -2 (0) HP and go unconscious?
That doesn't seem right. Couldn't you argue that the 5 HP you gained from Aid were the first ones removed? (a la THP?)
Yes, if you had 3 hp and the spell ended, you'd go down to 0.
It doesn't matter if the HP granted by Aid were first lost, last lost or 17th lost or whatever. If Aid is cast on you, your current HP increases by 5, when the spell ends, it decreases by 5.

This is correct if not the way I'd probably run it. The spell says that current and max are both increased "for the duration." When the duration ends both would end.
I still think I'd probably houserule it to treat the current HP as healing: something along the lines of "Your max HP increase by 5 for the duration and you immediately regain 5 HP." Too much to track otherwise.
Agreed, it would be much simpler. Having it benefit from disciple of life isn't game breaking or too OP.

You can't benefit from multiple Aid as the effects of the same spell cast multiple times don't combine.

I can’t remember what’s supposed to go here.
I guess that makes sense, thank you!
WAIT,
when Aid drops do you lose the 5HP?
Yes.
