Ghostly Gaze As an action, you gain the ability to see through solid objects to a range of 30 feet. Within that range, you have darkvision if you don't already have it. This special sight lasts for 1 minute or until your concentration ends (asif you were concentrating on a spell). During that time, you perceive objects as ghostly, transparent images. Once you use this invocation, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest. (XGtE)
It works like X-ray, so does Ghostly Gaze show invisible objects/creatures?

Nope, it would say so. If it doesn't say it does something, it doesn't do it. The invocation doesn't even mention creatures; only objects. Even still, you wouldn't see invisible ones because it doesn't say you do.
Considering Invisibility makes a character invisible to sight and this is a sight based ability, that should be a negative indication of detection.
I never thought about the 'object' part of that description. Basically, it might leave the world looking like every object is sculpted out of a single layer of tulle except any lifeforms wandering around which would appear as normal. That would make it very easy to be a pest control agent, haha.

IMHO, Earthdawn is still the best fantasy realm, Shadowrun is the best Sci-Fi realm, and Dark Sun is the best D&D realm.
also vote no. it was just decided in my game, based on this thread and other similar threads, that the objects must be normally visible for ghostly gaze to apply.
