me:wait a have the lucky feat *rolls another die* nat 20 plus evasion so no damage
dm:you stumble and trip on rock as you try to dodge the dragons breath but just as you do a sink hole opens beneath you and you fall in dodging the powerful lightning
As a DM, dragon of Ice Spire Peak, dwarven excavation, the green gem at the end I had be a magical gem worth 400 gold rather then just explode, but, it was on an Indiana jones style weighted trap. Took a while to get to the Nat 20 but it was worth it.
Rogue rolled to check for traps - 18, yes is trapped but you cant see a way to disarm it, the arm holding the stone is cantilevered and held down by the stone, the moment the stone is lifted off the trap will trigger.
Warrior I want to find something to swap it with, players spend 15 mins going through there level 1 equipment trying to find something before 1 player suddenly asked, are there any stones about. yes, yes there is a whole passageway of loose stone and rubble you just spent 4 hours clearing lol.
So investigation check to gauge the size and shape of the gem, rolled a 3. Investigation check to then find a stone that matched the rock, rolled a 10, (i said the stone matches what you think the gem is based on your investigation of the gem). Artificer asked if they could compare the rock to the gem to make a second opinion, I saw no issue with with as they had not been involved in any of the rolls so far, rolled a nat 1.
"You are convinced if you painted this rock green it would be an exact replica of the gem, this is as perfect as you can get"
Sorcerer then announces she is going to swap the stone for the gem.
Now note by this time the players knew that the rock was in no way the same shape or size as the gem, they knew the trap was about to be triggered, this was only the 3rd session of DnD and yet they all owned the dice rolls and being convinced the stone was genuine all but 1 stood near the statue. The one that didn't was the cautious one of the party anyway so that made sense.
Dragonborn Sorcerer rolls a dex check to swap the gem for the stone. Rolls a nat 20.
The table went wild, I sat wondering how do I play this, decided that the following happened.
"As you pick up the gem and place the stone in its place that split second you have both in your hand you realise, these are not the same, not even close. You put the stone on the statue and at the same time you leap backwards taking one of your allies with you (the one stood behind her). The dragonborn and the one she saved took half damage from the exploding statue. Everyone else took full but, that meant instead of 5 players out unconscious it was only 3.
The DM wanted to try using a module, so mid campaign at level 9 the DM took curse of strahd, took the parts they liked and changed the rest, and made it fit into the setting and story we'd been playing up to that point. Making a looooot of changes. Anyway, my rogues adopted goblin (not technically but goblin is the closest analogue to her homebrew race) daughter gets kidnapped and taken to the castle. When we get there, said daughter is trapped in some sort of ritual a vampire under Strahd is conducting, and the DM decided that she could escape it on her own accord, but only with a nat 20 charisma roll to break free.
Well we roll initiative. The goblin daughter goes first. Gets a nat 20 straight away, breaking out of the ritual and yeeting herself toward the party as fast as she can. It was pure luck but unintentionally made the vampires seem incompetent and it was pretty funny. We proceeded to tear through them and eventually take down the DM's homebrewed take on Strahd.
Once, we were trying to kill a corrupt king, but we were imprisoned, and long story short, my friend spilled some alchemist's fire and it burned the palace to the ground, and the DM rolled a 20 DC to see if the king died. he did.
dm: a powerful imposing machine lumber towards you and readies to attack
me:*goes first and attacks with advantage* nat 20 plus sneak attack plus radiant damage from that
another player:do not forget your dumb luck power *dumb luck is homebrew power where when i get a nat 20 on something a random normally rare event a occurs and help me out*
me:oh yeah *rolls on dumb luck table* lighting strike *reads* ooh an extra 4d6 lighting damage and remove reaction *rolls near max damage*
me:what does about 200 piercing damage, 12 radiant damage and 23 lighting damage
dm:you just dealt 258 damage to it's vunerable to lighting damage.it has has 150 health it's ******* dead describe your attack.
me:i jump up and hit right between the armor plates with my rapier,i strike it's power generator and it's malfunctions exploding.
We need to go into a mine so we say were inspectors. I don't remember if it was me or another teammate but one of us got a nat 20 for the performance. Although it didn't really do anything mechanically it was hilarious with all the miner scrambling to work and pass the "inspection"

Hi everyone! I'm working up the will to finalize my signature, so... I guess this will be the signature for now
Played a child-friendly raid-the-castle adventure with my kids today, aged 9 and 4. 2 orcs and 1 ogre guarding the treasure chest, so they realise they're outnumbered.
9 yr old: If you join us to beat the ogre we'll share the treasure and give you some food.
Orcs: We've been stuck here guarding this castle for ages, we're cold and hungry.
4 yr old: (first time playing D&D) We've got cheese sandwiches, ham sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, chocolate, pancakes, pineapples...
Result: Nat 20 for persuasion, they team up with the orcs to destroy the ogre, share the treasure and enjoy a feast of pineapples and tuna sandwiches

So not really 'mine' but related to my character.

Eberron Rising From the Last War setting, two players against six kobolds, one is an eladrin the other is a Goliath.
Goliath: I am going to slice one up.
Me, the DM: Alright roll that for me.
Goliath:*laughing* It's a two, think I hit?
Me:*also laughing* No, it did not.
The Goliath rolled two more really low attacks against these kobolds and just throws his sword to the side, and goes for an unarmed strike.
I have him roll again and he gets a nat 20. I ask him how he wants to attack and he says;
"I want to punt it"
So I have him roll again and he gets a second nat 20, he ends up punting the Kobold at another Kobold killing them both from blunt-force trauma.
Farewell.
