I'm in a game based in Faerun and the party is 8th-10th level. When asked to think of "backup characters" I thought about my favorite race, halfling! I love their Lucky racial trait and thought it'd be nice to expand on it. I came up with a rough draft but need some feedback. We're still using the PHB+1 rule, and I have Xanathar's. My build is halfling Wizard (Diviner)2/Cleric (Knowledge) 1/Bard (Lore) 6. Took Guidance and Resistance, prepared Bless and Bane, have Portent, Bardic Inspiration, Cutting Word and was thinking Second Chance for the ASI at 4th. Not sure if this will even be a good idea. We usually don't optimize, just role play it out in story. Any advice?
Rolled stats; 16, 16, 15, 15 10, 10
Put the 16s on Dex and Cha, 15s on Int and Wis, and the 10s on Str and Con (I know).
Thought about soulknife combined with Knowledge Cleric? You get to roll a psi die if you fail ANY skill check you’re skilled at (Knowledge cleric is great for this)… and if you still fail, you keep the die!
Great dip if you want to be the perfect skill monkey.
Oof, a 3-class multiclass with a different spellcasting Mod for every class? It seems that you'll be focused primarily on Bard with the Wizard and Cleric dips just to get more dice shenanigans for your character, but wow, that seems like a good amount of homework for yourself to keep track of. Honestly, I'd recommend dropping Cleric if only so you don't have to worry about WIS and you can put points in CON instead.
Yeah, I was trying to get as many dice control options as I could and that one level seems like a lot of effort for a couple cantrips and a couple spells. I dropped the cleric level and picked up another bard. Seems more solid with better HP. I grabbed Counterspell and Conjure Animals with Magical Secrets at level 6. Was weighing between Conjure Animals, Call Lightning and Fireball. But since Fireball doesn't scale that well I thought I might go with a more support option.

edit: oh right… PHB + 1. My advice is dumb. Haha
The Mind Sliver cantrip has a rider that fits thematically (but it's from Tasha"s so doesn't fit your PHB +1) and the Lucky feat would also fit.

Circle of Stars druid has the cool weal/woe dice thing too.
