Hey, I play an Aarakocra Barbarian Werebear and I have a question. My strongest attack at the moment is pretty overpowered and isn't cheating and due to the built-in physics of DND, the DM must allow it in some way. I will fly upwards of 100 to 1000 ft and go far beyond terminal velocity on the way down. At most the descent takes about two rounds to complete and my speed tops out at around 500 ft flying speed without using magic. However, because I do this the DM decided to raise the fall damage cap to 100D6 so I will feel the backlash every time. If I use an unarmed attack I deal 100D6+5 bludgeoning or 100D6 bludgeoning and I can move my opponent 10 ft thanks to the feat charger. The downside is both my target and I take the damage except the damage I deal depends on the weapon I use and the damage I take is always 100d6 nonmagical bludgeoning which I have 2 resistances to. Would you guys use this attack and Why or why not?
As per Tasha Cauldron of Everything rules, it's very dangerous to do this and the target might suffer no damage at all. Falling damage cap at 20d6, so if you're DM is houseruling it out and it works for you'all why not. I wouldn't let that fly easily at my table.
"If a creature falls into the space of a second creature and neither of them is Tiny, the second creature must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or be impacted by the falling creature, and any damage resulting from the fall is divided evenly between them."
my speed tops out at around 500 ft flying speed without using magic.
Also, how do you have a fly speed of 500? Aarakocra have fly speed of 25. To cover such a long distance, you'd have to fly multiple turns and would no longer be raging, so you'd be out of damage resistance when it's time to dive bomb

When you fall your speed can pass your character's actual flying speed and I take that further by having a base flying speed of 80. Also, I never said that I would rage before I descend, when I use this I rage just before I hit the target and use my action to activate my charger feat and I hit with the extra attack you get from being a barbarian. And the Aarakocra flying speed starts at 50, not 25.
Tbh, if I was your DM, I would move the campaign underground. Having to deal with that would not be fun for me as a DM. Are you sure your DM is really OK with this?

Oh yeah because he tries to do a lot inside but I still make that extremely hard for him with my attacks. You see when I attack inside I focus on more moving enemies around and weakening them with called shots.
Well, I'm pretty sure there are no 5e mechanics for 'weakening' an enemy with 'called shots'. Must be house rules, so if your DM is fine making them, he can deal with the repercussions. Why should you hold back?
Listen when I say weaken I mean like a disadvantage on dex saves, -10 movement speed, or like moving enemies passed allies so that they get an attack of oppertunities.

Sorry 50 you're right i misread. When you fall, you don't use your speed movement so you can't dash, i dont think Charger apply.
I'm not here trying to rain on your parade, but if I was your DM, here's what I would do:
You can free fall uncontrolled (500ft per round), or control your flight (whatever your fly speed is). Not both.
If you fall uncontrolled, then I would give your target advantage on the dex save to avoid your free falling form. Zero damage to the enemy if they succeed.
If you fail to hit your target, you take 100% of the fall damage. If you do hit your target, you each take 50%.
It is not possible to stack resistances to bludgeoning. If you're getting resistances from 2 different sources, you only get to apply one.
FIY:
The minimum fall damage on 100d6 is 100 bludgeoning. If you miss your target and you have resistance, that's 50 damage. The average damage on 100d6 is 350 bludgeoning. Even with resistance, that's 175. Enough to flat out kill at most levels.
My hit point max is 183 and I do fly uncontrolled and 350 is half a tarasque's maximum average hp, I get an advantage on the hit, the dex saves actually only reduces it half actually, and the bludgeoning that I deal is considered magical because of my Lycanthropy, and the Dm rolls two different damage rolls for me and the creature and I never get out of the way because I would live anyway.

Also, there is a way if you accelerate during the dive instead of just free falling. Allowing you to use a dash.
First, Charger requires an action to Dash. In my books, free-falling is not dashing. If you are flying 1000 ft in the air and stop flying and fall, you haven't taken any action. If you fall onto a creature or hit the ground, you still haven't taken an action.
I have no idea why you state you have advantage on a hit. As I stated, I would make the creature roll a DEX saving throw to avoid you. I would give it advantage if you are free-falling and the DC decreases the higher up in the air you start your free-fall. No damage on a success.
Taking the attack action, as a lycanthrope, produces magical damage. Falling from the sky while taking NO action would not constitute an attack, so it doesn't matter what you are, the bludgeoning damage from the fall is just plain bludgeoning damage.
I have no idea why you say you wouldn't get out of the way. You are the one falling. It's the creature that is getting out of the way.
If your DM makes 2 different damage rolls for the same in game effect, that's his choice. I would roll 100d6 once and half that damage applies to both you and the enemy, or all on you.
It doesn't matter if the falling damage is half a Tarasque's HP. If it kills you outright (remember, 350 is the average. It could go as high as 600), what difference does it make if you obliterate your enemy at the same time?

To the OP: Kerrec is right. Plaguescarred is also right. Essentially, the reason this happens in your game is that you're playing homebrew rules that the DM is allowing for some reason.

That's if they notice and usually I am so high that I catch them off guard.
You either move using your fly speed or fall not using it. If you fall, it's uncontrolled.
Unless you're hidden, the creature will notice you
Not sure what point you're trying to get across.
