Credit for this build goes to Colby from D4 D&D Deep Dive's Assassin's Creed build, except for bugbear, warlock, and piercer those parts are mine. As the Tarrasque is immune to fire, 86 of this dmg will not apply, you could swap branding smite for thunderous smite for 28 dmg, but in the interest of showing how cool this build is I'm going with 785. I may also have done the math wrong. If so please correct me:
Start with bugbear, stats finish at 13 or less but dex should be at 20 after piercer and asi: 5 lvls genielock 3 lvls assassin 2 lvls paladin (dueling) 2 lvls grave cleric 6 lvls divine sorc 2 lvls ftr (blindfighting)... this gives you three booming blades (action surge and quickened spell) with an enhanced pact rapier, with 3 lvl 4 smites, 1 lvl 3 eldritch smite, 1 lvl 6 branding smite and vulnerability on the target for path to the grave. You hide, cast a subtle branding smite and use path to the grave, then jump out and hit em 3 times for auto crits from assassin, doubled by path to the grave. I believe this works out to:
(((1d8 rapier + 2d8 bb + 5d8 smite + 2d6 bugbear)x3 + 4d8 esmite + 6d6 bsmite + 2d6 sneak)x2 +3d8 piercer +30 rapier +6 genie)x2 or 785 dmg, or 727 if you go with thunderous smite to hit the Tarrasque.
Unfortunately even with advantage you have only a 64% chance to hit AC 25., and you can add 2d4 to one roll with favored by the gods upping that attack to 84%. So you'll usually die. BUT if you have a +3 rapier or oil of sharpness for it, and a buddy to cast bless on you, your chance goes up to 82% and 97% for favored by the gods. So now it's:
Sadly the Tarrasque has 676 hp. So I'd estimate you will succeed about 43% of the time. But throw in an inspiration die and a bardic inspiration die and you're about 50/50 meaning on an average round you can do it!
FYI Path of the Grave only affects 1 attack, not all 3.
Well... I feel silly. Dunno how I missed that. VERY nice build! Mine is a flattened husk under the Tarrasque's claw... although your whispers bard has me thinking what if you steal banishing smite instead it's a little more dmg but more importantly it's force dmg since big T is fire immune. I must ponder this new information and see if there is any way to indeed still a way to assassinate it at all. I apologize to everyone for the incorrect title of this thread.
OK an unnamed buddy comes to my rescue: Bugbear, 3 ftr bm 5 rngr gloom 3 rogue assn 5 clr grave 4 pal devot, piercer, gift o chrom dragn, you have low con but dex is 20, a +3 shortsword and another shortsword, you're going to hide, use sacred weapon, then next round use path to the grave, then next round use gift o chrom dragon and cast lvl 5 spirit shroud. Then next round you jump out and stab the tarrasque 7 times because gloom stalker action surge dual weapons, for: (6d6 shortsword + 12d6 bugbear + 12d8 shroud + 5d4 chrom +10d8+12d8+3d8 smites)x2 crit +6d6 piercer+ 45 shortsword + ((1d6 short +2d6 bug +2d6 sneak +1d4 chrom +5d8 smite)x2 crit +1d6 piercer +8 short)x2 grave = 677 dmg. With +2 to hit and 4 combat superiority dice for precision attacks, and advantage, you're hitting the tarrasque ~89% of the time. So it's not perfect but presuming you can get a nice wizard to cast a lvl 7 elemental weapon on your shortsword instead of having a regular +3 one you're getting +3 and +3d4 elemental damage... throw that into the mix and you should be fine.
Except now you don't have subtle spell so you lose your hiding when you cast Spirit Shroud and Path to the Grave only lasts until the end of your next turn.
This is true you would want to cast spirit shroud up to a minute earlier... fortunately path to the grave appears to be silent. Elemental weapon lasts an hour so the wizard can stay home.

So I'd recommend:
Dragon Wrath Rapier (+3 + 3d6 damage)
Bugbear - 2d6 bonus damage
2 - Grave Cleric (Path of the Grave) - double damage
1-genie lock (Booming Blade + Prof bonus damage)
2 - Paladin (Divine Smite)
11 - Whispers Bard (Branding Smite + Psychic Blades) -> max Dex with ASIs
1 - Divine Soul Sorcerer
3 - Assassin
Spellcaster level: 2+1+12 = 15 = 8th level spells
To hit: +3+5+Adv+2d4 (Favoured by the Gods)
Damage: 1d8+3+5+2(dueling)+3d6 (weapon) + 5d6 (Psychic Blades) + 3d8 (BB) + 2d6 (Bugbear) + 8d6 (Branding Smite) + 5d8 (Divine Smite) + 6 (genie) + 2d6 (sneak)
Auto Crit: (2d8+6d6+10d6+6d8+4d6+16d6+10d8+4d6+14) *2 (Grave)
= (18d8+24d6+14)*2 = 358 Damage.
If you swap one of those ASIs for Metamagic adept, to get a Quicken Spell
Add Another: 2d8+5+3+2+6d6+6d8+10d8+4d6 = 120 Damage.

This appears to be a candidate for the highest possible damaging builds.
Lol you convinced me, posted!
