I am currently in a Curse of Strahd game and we are our group is adjusting things to the 2024 rules. My character recently died and we just hit level 6. From what I understand my DM has an idea to later work in Eve of Ruin post Curse of Strahd so this campaign will be going to higher levels.
I mostly wanted help with what class I should play I have it down to two. First in the abjurer wizard that was raised by monster hunters and the other was a valor bard who dual-weilds scimitars that has a connection to Lady Night.
My party is made up of the following.
Vengeance Paladin, Gloom stalker Ranger, Soul Knife Rouge, Beast Heart Barbarian, and Land Druid.
I just wanted some input on what you guys think would fit best in the party. Also open to ideas outside of Valor Bard and Abjurer Wizard.

Between the Paladin and the Barbarian you've got plenty of front-line smashy smashy. A largely support-oriented caster like the Abjurer might be more complementary to the existing group.
I've played RPGs for more than 40 years. My being "in character" is not sacrosanct.
Like the earlier thread with the barbarian and the potion, I would have broken character to save the other PC. I don't care that it's out of character for a barbarian to stop raging and fumble for a vial, I'd do it to keep the game moving. https://100001****/
In my view, even if it doesn't help the party, it helps the table. I'm playing with other people, not pieces of paper.
(Realistically, I'd have cheesed a way to RP it, but the motivation and ends are the same.)

What was your original character?
pronouns: he/she/they
It was a spirits bard with inspiring leader. Taking a similar role to what the abjurer would.
