I'm a level 6 Battle Master Fighter and we are playing a 10 level Curse of Strahd campaign and I am entertaining the idea of using my last 4 levels for Cleric, choosing War Domain as my subclass. The DM isn't going to allow us to level past 10.
My WIS is 16, so theoretically I'd have extra attack and three bonus action attacks per short rest (along with valuable spells like Bless, etc. and the ability to Turn the Undead), but it wouldn't come online until I hit level 9 and I'd lose out on some Fighter/ Battle Master stuff like another Superiority Dice, two more maneuvers, Tactical Master, Indomitable, improved Superiority Dice, and a 4th use of Second Wind.
I am also considering just one level of Cleric. Trading improved Superiority Dice and a 4th use of Second Wind for some useful spells and spell slots.
I am having a hard time making my mind up as to what I want to do. This is my first DND character, so I've just been learning as I go.

The best thing about MCing late, is it gives you a chance to see how your party works together. If you've got a Paladin or Cleric who loves casting Bless, then there's very little reason for you to MC to get it. Similarly if you are the only one making lots of attacks, again there is little reason to try to get Bless. If your combats are usually short so if you spend a whole action casting Bless it will only last for 1-2 turns before the combat is over, then again, it's not worth it.
The best way to decide whether to MC in late levels is to pay attention during the game and write down every time you wish you had something from your MC idea. If that's happening less than once per adventuring day then there's really no reason to MC.

We have no cleric in our party, but we do have a Paladin. We have a party of 6 and he's only able to cast Bless on half the party.
Thanks for the input and suggestions :)
