Hey! I'm relatively new to being a DM, and entirely new to posting on here, so let's see if I get this right.
I'm running a game for some friends, and within the next couple sessions, they are going to have to complete a series of Disney themed challenges, and I've been putting together some puzzles to do with the different movies but I'm at a loss for a couple of them. I'll give some examples of the ones I've come up with already, if we can brainstorm some ideas for the missing ones?
So for Snow White, I'm going to present them with eight identical apples. 7 of them are poisoned and one is not, and the one that isn't poisoned is minutely heavier than the others. They will also be presented with a scale, of which they can only use twice before it breaks. They have to identify the non poisoned apple and eat it to continue. For the Mulan based one, I haven't hashed out the details yet but basically I'll be putting them through an obstacle course like the scene I'll Make a Man out of You. For Sleeping Beauty, at the beginning one of them will fall into a magic sleep and be transported to the center of a thorny maze, guarded by a fairy dragon they'll have to fight their way through, only to discover it's an illusion and they just need to forge straight through the maze but still fight the dragon to wake up their friend.
I have others but you get the gist. I'm open for any other ideas y'all have, but the movies I'm more focused on figuring something out for right now are Hercules and Tangled. I was thinking something to do with singing for Tangled, but I'm not sure, and I'm at a complete loss for Hercules.
Any help is appreciated! If you guys want more context or to hear the other ideas I have, feel free to ask. I'm super excited for this, they've loved everything else I threw at them so far. Also, since it's gonna be a few sessions before they get here, I'm not on a time crunch (thank god).
For Hercules, and underwater fight. It should be they go 1v1, not all together. That way, each person needs their one tactics, and under water means new tactics are needed. Tangled would maybe be to get out of a giants grapple? They can do it with a song, dream or sleep spells.

My idea for the Tangled one is probably a lot of work for you (and it requires getting some info from the players ahead of time, too), but I think it could be really cool. One of the main themes of Tangled is following your dream, but also dealing with your dream changing as you grow and mature. So if the players can think about what their characters' dreams were before they started adventuring, perhaps offer them something that tempts them in to their "happily ever after" but at the expense of the party. So each player is separated and, in some way, offered what they were always after. But to take it, they have to abandon their team. And it's all an illusion, but it's a test of will. It's Flynn Ryder being given the crown that can buy him his own private island, but handing it over to the Stabbington Brothers because his new dream is to be with Rapunzel. It could be a real moment of maturing for some of the party's characters.
For example, perhaps one character is adventuring because he was orphaned as a child? Well he's separated from his party and can hear them calling for help from the other room, but his parents appear before him. They say that he can have them back. "Come on, it's your dream to be a family again, isn't it?" He just has to go with them. In some ways, it's less of a "puzzle" since the players will know the right answer, of course, but if they RP it it can be a puzzle for the character.
Also, FWIW, I'd really love to see your final work on this if it's something you're willing to share.

For Hercules you could create various tests of strength or just have an epic battle with a Hydra.
