I'm a fifth level sorcerer and I own a bag of holding.
I was wondering if I could sleep in my bag of holding, but my DM told me that I wouldn't be able to get out of it if I did. Is there any way I could get out easily (preferably without wasting a spell slot.) so I could sleep in it.
Note: I am attuned to the bag so I was wondering if I could summon myself out of it or something (...?)

Long ago, in the lands of magic and mystery, adventurers battled through dungeons and fought dragons and a man set out on a quest with a seamstress, and a bag of holding containing 1536 stuffed dinosaur plushies was created. The land was ravaged with cute dinosaur plushie rain for a week and a day after the man inverted the bag of holding.
This bag has an interior space considerably larger than its outside dimensions, roughly 2 feet in diameter at the mouth and 4 feet deep. The bag can hold up to 500 pounds, not exceeding a volume of 64 cubic feet. The bag weighs 15 pounds, regardless of its contents. Retrieving an item from the bag requires an action.
If the bag is overloaded, pierced, or torn, it ruptures and is destroyed, and its contents are scattered in the Astral Plane. If the bag is turned inside out, its contents spill forth, unharmed, but the bag must be put right before it can be used again. Breathing creatures inside the bag can survive up to a number of minutes equal to 10 divided by the number of creatures (minimum 1 minute), after which time they begin to suffocate.
Placing a bag of holding inside an extradimensional space created by a handy haversack, portable hole, or similar item instantly destroys both items and opens a gate to the Astral Plane. The gate originates where the one item was placed inside the other. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can't be reopened.
Please see the red text. You can jump in a bag. You can't get out unless something else retrieves you. If you need to breathe you die in 10 minutes after jumping in.
Possibly you could cast Plane Shift if your DM allows it since the bag is an extra-dimensional space it might be considered a "different plane".

the problem is that I'm fifth level, so I can't cast plane shift

The problem is not the lack of Plane Shift. It is the same as in real life. Air. Water. Food. In that order. Bag of Holding does not let you breathe after 10 minutes. You are DEAD if you jump in a bag of holding. Period. The end.
So, forget about sleeping in one. You couldn't even read a moderately long letter in one.
According to the description the Bag of Holding is actually only 4 feet deep. Pretty huge compared to its external appearance, but something an individual could easily crawl out of if they were so inclined. I feel like this is important because it means you can't just scoop up enemies in the bag of holding and kill them instantly (or uh... in 10 minutes). A bag of holding is often treated like it links to a nebulous, infinite plane of storage, but by default it has very specific dimensions. So even though climbing inside is a bad idea, you wouldn't be stuck in there with no opportunity to escape.
Bag of holding doesn't say one way or the other whether creatures inside are able to open it from inside. If you were inside of a real bag would you be able to get out without cutting your way out? Probably depends on what kind of closure the top had (elastic band vs tied knot vs rope cinched around it vs just left unclosed, etc.).
The breathing issue is the main obstacle to being in your own bag. If you can overcome that, I don't see why you and your DM couldn't work out some way for you to pull on the quick release not or something from inside to climb out.

actually, the way it works is that the bag has two forms, the material plane form and the pocket dimension. as the owner of the bag, you can summon items in the pocket dimension to the material plane form and vice versa.

If you don't mind destroying the bag and cannot open it from the top, then just damage the inside. The bag will be destroyed and all contents, including you, will disappear into the Astral Plane. From there you can find a portal back to the material plane within 1 to 40 hours of travel (1d4 x 10).
The maximum size of the portable dimension inside the bag is 4 feet. You can fit if the bag was empty and you were 4 ft or less in height/width/etc. Even if you technically can fit, it would be incredibly cramped and uncomfortable.
Then there is the air issue.
I'd recommend getting portable hole instead. It's easier to work with and specifically mentions creatures inside can get out even if it was closed/folded up. Slap it on the ground and you have a 10 ft deep, 6 ft diameter hole which is enough space to sleep in without being too cramped. You can keep the entrance to the hole open so air is not an issue. You could also place it on a wall to crawl into it that way - so you have room to sleep in even stretched out.

My big question is why do you want to do that at all? Not saying it is wrong, but very odd and am curious to know the reasoning behind this desire.
the reason is that it would be convenient to be able to sleep in a bag of holding if you are worried of attack while sleeping, since you can hide the bag in some tall grass

There are other spells, that are meant for this. Not the bag of holding.

if you read my signature, it should be quite obvious (yes, the 1536 dinosaur plushies are real)

I'm picturing someone crawling most of the way into their Bag of Holding, with just their head sitting outside so they can continue to breathe. It'd be at least one way to fit someone in a space too small to fit their full body.
Or, building a mech (golem, animated armor, whatever) where the pilots seat is a bag of holding that leaves your head poking out so you can maintain visibility while controlling it without requiring a chassis big enough to house your entire body :)
I personally would rule that if the bag is left open, you can still breathe. However, it normally isn't a good idea to sleep in a bag of holding, as if it gets attacked, you will be sent to the Astral Plane.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
I bet noone thought about building a pipe enough long to breath ( one edge reaching the outside, and the other edge the inside ). Like if it were an air supply, or like if you were diving.
So the only remaining tool you'll need it will be a breathing mask connected to the air supply pipe. TADAAAAAA !!!!

I think if the point to sleeping in the bag of holding is to remain out of sight then the pipe could be able to be seen and might reveal the location. So.......

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.
Sure, but they don't sleep ;)
I have already solved that problem with my DM.

As pointed out, it is only 4ft deep, 2ft wide, so unless you are a gnome or halfling with a Necklace of Adaptation, you a) wont fit and b) suffocate.
