This new UA is bigger than all the previous ones, including play-test 5 (which was 50 pages long). It will have seven classes and each of them will have more than one subclass, as well as some other content.
The videos delving into the changes to each class and giving more specific details will be released tomorrow.
Weapon Mastery is also in this play-test, and it has been added to a bunch of other classes.
Classes will have 20th level features instead of Epic Boons.
Subclasses will now get abilities at the same levels as they do in the current Player's Handbook.
The new core rules will have "More nods to the game's macro setting than ever before."

By the way the video describes it, sounds like 4 of the 7 classes are likely to be Rogue, Ranger, Paladin and Monk, have to see if that is the case tomorrow.

rogue and paladin again? i wonder what the surveys said to bring them back round, or if this isn't about the class but rather to showcase another subclass or two.
i could definitely see them changing nothing for rogue except to lay out an Arcane Trickster to get some comment on spell progression in a non-spell class.

unhappy at the way in which we lost individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
tell them you don't like features disappeared quietly in the night: providefeedback!

I would have to assume it's the Monk and Expert and Priest group classes, since they have been out a while. The remaining Warrior group (Fighter/Barbarian) and Mage group are too new to have revisions. It looks like the Playtest 6 video for Bard, Cleric, Druid, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue will be up tomorrow (6/29 @ Noon. Shows Upcoming in the YouTube app) as well. So confirmation is there.
almost every comments in the video : "give subclass standardisation", and yet they still want to go back, this is crazy
I'm sure the comment section is a very small fraction of the survey respondents, so it may have had more complaints in the survey than what we are seeing in the video comments. I liked the standardization, but it wasn't a "must have". And they are sticking with getting subclass at 3rd level, which was more important to me than when other subclass features came online.
I'm kind of sad they moved the level 20 feature back to 20 from 18. I mean, realistically, I was never going to hit level 18, either, but it felt like there was more of a shot I'd ever get to see it.

On the youtube page, there's a video it says is coming tomorrow, titled "Bard, Cleric, Druid, Monk, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue" So it seems likely.
The thing that people objected to about subclass standardization was not getting subclass features until level 3. That's the one feature of subclass standardization they kept.

Yeah, I dunno why they're doing this. I did see a few complaints about standardized subclasses messing with "backwards compatibility" when the change was first introduced, but this modification really helped classes like the Rogue and so I don't want to see it get discarded.
Since YouTube comments are nowhere near a perfect metric though, I hope that this will be on the next survey.

It appears to be a combination of backwards compatibility and it just not getting a level of enthusiasm to justify the annoyance. They're apparently adding a new rogue class feature instead.

Crawford said changing them was having ripple effects, that was in turn having more ripple effects. But he didn’t go into detail. I think the armchair game designers in all of us would have loved some more details. Maybe he’ll get into it more in tomorrow’s video. I doubt it, but theoretically there’s a chance.
It really bugs me that Paladins and Rangers are going to get weapon mastery. The Warriors are supposed to be the best of the best when it comes to weaponry, but if you give all the cool tricks that the Warriors get to everybody and their mom then what's even the point. Fighter shouldn't just be "I'm Paladin but without the spells," it should be "I'm Paladin but I'm way better at using a weapon because I don't have spells to rely on." Paladin and Ranger are FINE, and as long as Paladin has half of its current tricks it'll remain one of the best classes in the game. So why do we need to take away from other classes to give them more?
It bugs me a bit that Rogues will get it too, but to a lesser extent because they really need the help. I'd prefer if they gave something different (and bigger) to help them out though, for the sake of niche protection.

They said that they are expanding the feature too, which may mean that Fighter, Barbarian and Monk will get better access to Weapon Masteries, we will need to wait until the UA comes out to know what that means.

It kind of bugs me as well, but figured it was going to happen so wasn’t much of a shock. I hope that they restrict them to maybe one mastery option. Let the Warrior group have access to more masteries, with fighter mixing them like in the UA
Rogue maybe two, with possibly limiting them to certain masteries (like Nick, Sap, Vex)?
Please don't cause a Murphy's law case to appear, you know how it goes: If anything CAN go wrong, it WILL go wrong.
Best case scenario the people in charge of Way of Mercy monk were the ones that handled this. Murphy's case? Four Elements, Astral Self and Ascendant Dragon teams had their way with the design. Yes, I'm assuming different people were in charge of subclasses even on the same book, because Mercy's standards are way too high to be from the same people who made Astral Self.
Regarding the subclasses standarization, I think it was fair, why do martial classes have to wait until lvl 3 to get their subclass when full caster (except the bard) get them at lvl 1 (Cleric, Warlock and Sorcerer) or 2 (Druid and Wizard)? Heck, the Cleric already has 2 domain features before a martial has a subclass.

I don't mind Paladins & Rangers getting the basic Weapon Mastery, they're kind of a hybrid Warrior/Expert or Warrior/Priest so it makes sense. I'm more iffy about the Rogue, but I'll wait to see what they've actually done. I think part of the reason some folks may be feeling like Weapon Mastery is getting spread around too much is that Fighters are the only ones so far that have gotten something beyond the basic Weapon Mastery ability. I think if Barbarians and Monks got more than just the basics, it would help Weapon Mastery feel more like a thing that some classes can do a little with, but Warriors as a group can do much more with.
Question is whether weapon mastery is supposed to make fighters feel special, or to make weapons feel special. If the latter, giving it to most weapon-using classes is appropriate.
