Sorcerer and Wizard, I think, need to be more... true to their identities? I feel like Wizard and Sorcerer somewhat swapped their identities in 5E and the latest playtests, with having an identical spells-per-day limitations (as that has been standardized), but sorcery points compare unfavorably to arcane recovery, meaning the wizard has both the greater repertoire per day, greater repertoire with preparation, and greater spellcasting per day. Now, Innate Sorcery is interesting, but Wizard gets... what that is comparable? Memorize Spell?
Warlock, a tiny bit, because I am a "choose your casting stat" supporter.
Artificer, because I know there is no chance, but I keep hoping, because having them available as a core class would be a supplimental material game-changer. And the class does need to be a tiny bit looked at, regardless, especially the alchemist.
fighter, second attempt at brawler to contrast this unarmed system with monk's martial arts in live play data. or, at least that's what i'd do which means that's totally not going to happen. more likely is that concerns about a fighter subclass that can't/won't hold magical weapons will cause them to double down on no-permanent-magical-weapon and instead highlight some new grappling mechanisms.
ranger, longshot prediction: an out-of-left-field subclass about running on all fours and wrestling bears to match the above. terrible stats, rushed abilities, and never seen again after this.

unhappy at the way in which we lost individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
tell them you don't like features disappeared quietly in the night: providefeedback!
Confirmed today, the next packet will be out before year end and will contain Barb, Monk, and Druid. Looks like they're happy enough with Warlock and Sorcerer to not need to test them publicly.
The magic weapons shouldn’t be a major issue, I know they’ve got +X handwraps that I believe won’t use attunement in the Deck of Many things.
i don't disagree, but i feel like there's more that can be done than using a highlighter to circle the one item (hidden within another item??) which solves the issue every time.
i'm more bummed that they don't find it interesting to contrast everyone-else unarmed combat against martial arts combat. it's abandoning the issue of how unique and class defining 'punching' really is for monk. people are going to say dance bard and brawler step on monk toes forever if devs can't step up and put it to rest in the UA.

Well, from what I’ve heard Brawler got dropped, so now we’re back to “Monk is awful because it doesn’t support my pro-wrestler based unarmed fighter build”.

Thanks for the info. That’s scary because the last Warlock was Blade focused and a far better two level dip than the 5e version. I’m fine Sorcerer isn’t coming back, but that doesn’t mean what we saw last is what we will get. Honestly I’m not going to assume anything I did or didn’t like will make the game. I remember UA samurai being the coolest fighter ever to me. I also remember UA Dragon Monk being an epic monk. When they released Samurai was okay and Dragon Monk was not good.

...unless this world tree barbarian second take is going in a vine grappling ent-hug direction. can't be worse than 10ft 'Battering Roots' extending from weapons.

Barbarian + Tavern Brawler, done. Unarmed and Unarmored. Wildheart in particular makes you a hell of a grappler since you can get Athletics Expertise as early as level 6.

athletics has nothing to do with grappling any more, STR is the only relevant stat.

Point, we'll see if that makes it to print. But even then, Athletics still matters for breaking out of an enemy's grapple, which the Wildheart can do much more easily than the Brawler.

Well, that's it for warlocks. The class stays screwed with its Pact Magic issues unresolved. I'm not even angry anymore. It's just... disappointment and apathy at this point. I know I'm not going to play warlock anymore, because it's still going to suck in the same way it always did, no matter what bells and whistles they attach to it. Thanks, WotC, thanks, community. If they don't fix the monk, and by now I'm 90% certain that they're incapable of it, that's both my favorite classes broken.
Looks like it's time to homebrew a warlock fix. I'm thinking of just tacking on 1/3 caster spell slots (like Eldritch Knight and Arcane Trickster), and keeping the flexible casting stat.

That's pretty much what I'm going to do if they move forward with Cha-only and the bandaid feature.
There is still the (slim) chance they update the class without public feedback however.
With the next Playtest allegedly being the last for PHB 2024 what classes are you expecting and why?
Bard- because the base class needs to be refined and Dance needs another go or a replacement.
Druid- because they haven’t dialed in Wildshape and Moon needs another go.
Monk- because base Monk has yet to hit the mark.
Sorcerer- because while I was content with it I saw a lot of people posting complaints.
Warlock- because lot of people just aren’t happy with it yet.
Warlock you might as well write off. You're never going to make everyone who's interested in warlocks happy, unless perhaps you let them choose between pact magic and an alternative spell progression such as 1/3. I got the impression from the last video with JC that they are patting themselves on the back with warlock, so I doubt you will see them lift the lid on that can of worms other than some tweaks, such as hopefully...un-doing the reversion to 2014 eldritch blast at the minimum. EB in it's 2014 incarnation is bad for the game and needs to scale on warlock level not character level.
Monk...I'm just happy it's a class I am not interested in. That's about all I can say there. I feel for people who love monks and/or want to love monks. I think that they simply don't know what to do with the monk, and might be in the same manner as warlock where you're never going to make people happy.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.

I briefly tried to do just that. I was going to simply disable pact magic and enable spell casting with 1/3 progression to see how it looked, but the DDB tools do not appear to support that. I can create subclasses, but I don't see a way to do a base class.

Why not just add the 1/3 casting via the subclass, like AT/EK do?
1- update on Fighting Styles to include Unarmed, Druidic Warrior, and Blessed Warrior ... and allowing Defensive to work without regard to armor. 2- Monk (I think everyone knows I want to see something like Cunning Strikes applied to the Monk ... would love to see it applied to all Martials) 3- Revision to True Strike for damage type (Force), and maybe a variant for Cleric that gives a choice between Radiant and Necrotic. 4- Revision to Shillelagh's damage dice progression to be a little more like other cantrips. 5- Revision to Magic Initiate to reflect that the unified spell lists aren't there anymore. 6- Brawler-ish Barbarian

I may go back and try that and see how it works. I'm not sure if I can actually /do/ that; I haven't played with the tools that much. I'm generally a bit adverse to homebrew as it feels like cheating, but it's something I would like to explore. I do feel like pact magic should be disabled or somehow ignored because both pact magic AND 1/3 casting I think would likely be pretty overpowered.
