The bite is honestly, pretty cool, but not OP. Until you get infinite rages, at which point it becomes stupid bag of rats-able for infinite hp. The claws are... overrated in my opinion. They are cool, but I would consider them similar to the Zealot Barbarian's damage boost. The tail is cool, but it is not that good. It has reach, which is nice, and you can wield a shield while using it. You are also unable to get any benefits of things like GWM, the great weapon fighting style, or other things that makes big weapons better. I still maintain: This is a psionic barbarian subclass. The "lycanthrope" flavor they are putting in is just because it is an easier concept to initially swallow, but the abilities reflect a psionic barbarian much better.
I would argue that given enough aggression I can bite attack a steak.
Which means that my Beast Mode Barbarian can heal by eating a meal like Goku.
I am 100% ok with this strictly for the visual and hilarity.
But yes, I could totally see this reskinned with little effort to a psionic with the animal effects being Energy Constructs.
annoying because the monk, the only class who has any business with an psionic subclass being all about brains over brawn and both physical enlightenment, sophistication, also being favored by the githzerai, gets an psionic subclass while the freaking barbarian, the class who is the least about the brain and more about the brawn gets one, like i know psionics is more complicated than that and force of personality plays a big role but seriously, why no psionic monk?

it only works on creatures, steaks are objects, even if they once were creatures, and you must maintain your rage, something that becomes hard becuase you are nether attacking or defending when eating a meal

Yeah, the only thing they're missing is a subclass ability that makes lets you choose to calculate your AC as 10 + CON + INT.
well, psionics is the power of the mind shure, but it does not have to be related to intelegence, force of personality and spacial awareness are just as important as your abillity for reason and logic, monks ki abillities are said to be a breed of psionics themselves, i think the 3e psion used every single abillity score as their psionic abillity score, diffrent kinds of diciplinces using diffrent scores, intelegence is not important for psions, and giving it to the barbarian just feels wrong

'Force of personality' is specifically supposed to be Charisma, and 'spatial awareness' is Wisdom. Neither of those is reall how brains work, and frankly the fact that Intelligence is an almost universal dump stat that nobody wants in 5e unless their class forces them to take it bothers me immensely. Strength and intelligence, two of the things a powerful adventurer is supposed to want as much of as they can get, are the game's overwhelmingly universal choices for "Nah, I don't need this". It's utterly ridiculous that only some of the game's stats have intrinsically desirable bonuses to them while others are "Ehhhhh...legacy thing, we'll leave it in for jollies".
Admittedly, this isn't the place for that sort of discussion, but yeah. Maybe there was something to "Intelligence grants you more skills/languages" after all, given the fact that it's entirely too easy to find entire 5+-guy adventuring parties without a single IQ above 8 in the lot - and furthermore, 5e doesn't even really hinder any party without one single non-idiot in it.
No no no. Turning parts of your body into other animal parts to adapt to a situation is a thing that psionics can already do. That is actually one of the subclasses in the Mystic, the Order of the Immortal. It doesn't need "reflavoring" by making the shapeshifting into some psionic projection, it literally just has to have the whole "you are possesed by an animal spirit/have shapeshifter ancestry" replaced with "you use the power of psionics to change your form, from the emotions in your rage" (psionics can come from any ability score, even CON, and has in previous editions)
How to justify psionics for any ability score: Intelligence: Psionics here is studied mental techniques demonstrating full and total control of the mind, mastering it internally. Wisdom: Psionics is mental attunement to the world around you, feeling, using, and shaping it to your will.
Charisma: Psionics is the force of your will, so powerful it is manifested as this mental power.
Constitution: Your endurance and willingness to withstand psionics allows you to shape it, using the power of your bodies form and changing it itself.
Dexterity: Your speed and endurance have unlocked the power of psionics inside yourself, you are able to manipulate things around you with minor movements to influence and read situations.
Strength: Your complete and utter strength can bend reality around it, which is best represented as psionics.
I know these all aren't perfect but please let's remember that psionics is less "mind reading and telekinesis" and more "superpowers" in D&D.
A. Jeremy Crawford did not make it. B. Yes, I agree that it is clearly based on Stands.
C. You summon a projection of your inner spirit that fights like you but also enhances your movement, protects you from elements, and reaches out. It is super psionics-coded.
Monk already has a psionic subclass, it is the way of the Astral Self.
the astral self is not at all even close to an proper psionic subclass, it has more to do with spirits than it has to do with your mind and brain, and absolutely nothing about the astral self makes me think of the gith in any way, the astral self has more in common with the totem barbarian than the mystic. For what i mean, think like the gith and their stat blocks in mordekinens tombe of foes, wich i have mention like thrice already, or the weird zerth cenobite prestige class from 3.5e. Think an subclass akin to the four elements monk, but instead focused arround moving objects with your mind, slowing down time, perhaps with some illusions or enchantments

Actually if the Astral arms did Force or psychic damage, instead of radiant or necrotic, i can't think of a single thing about this that wouldn't fit psionics.

Oh, so you want to make it more OP?
But, yeah I agree, it should be force or psychic damage.

Let's be honest here, Astral Self Monk is really a Stand user, and Jeremy Crawford was probably thinking of Star Platinum when he made it.

In fairness, J. Crawford did list the Astral Self Monk as being one of a number of psionically flavored subclasses: https://www.sageadvice.eu/2019/11/30/jeremy-crawford-we-havent-closed-the-door-on-a-class-like-mystic-psion/. I personally would have preferred something like a monk that attacks using telekinesis, but that's neither here nor there.
All that said, this is all kinda off topic, lol.
And this is why I hope "psionics" never makes it into 5e proper. God, what an awful, twisted viewpoint to try and foist on a playerbase.

Astral Self Monk is definitely a psionic subclass.
What does everyone think of the paladin?
Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:

I think making it firmly psychic or force wouldn't make it any MORE OP, given how rarely radiant is resisted. this is so a psion subclass.
I don't know how you would argue that a class based on weaponized astral projection isn't psionics-related.
It's ok Ranger, you'll always be cool to me.. Unless druid gets another use for its wild shape charges.
