My group is moving to DnD Beyond and I am not sure how to deal with a PC who can shift between two forms that have different abilities and different strength/weaknesses. It was easy when my player had two character sheets to switch between, but I have only a foggy idea on how to homebrew this in the system. Is there a guide any of you have found helpful?
Make a homebrew race that has the traits shared by both forms, or the lower of the two (ie, if one has a 30 speed but the other has 35, make the base race have a speed of 30). Then make two homebrew magic items that don't require attunement. One has the features unique to form A, and one has the features unique to form B. Equip the appropriate magic item depending on what form the PC is in. Some things like certain actions (to represent bites, etc) you might just have to make as custom actions, and put in a note saying that it can only be used in form B.

You could just make two record sheets and switch between them. Unless you're on a free account and have hit the limit.
Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
