I know one can manually set a race's Climb Speed to a specific numeric value. What I'd like is to set a race's Climb Speed to just be keyed to its Speed, so that anything affecting the latter would also change the former. Any brilliant DDBers out there that can help me?
The best way to figure out how to do anything with the homebrew tools is to take an official feature which does what you want and create a duplicate version to reverse engineer how it does it.
I did a quick look around and some features (like Rogue Thief) just say that climbing doesn't cost extra movement and leave it at that. But there is a feature which does this properly - and that's the Barbarian Beast. It just uses these (with everything else blank): Modifier Type: Set. Modifier Subtype: Innate Speed (Climbing)
I imagine that leaving the fixed value blank makes it default to the walking speed value. Disclaimer: I haven't actually tested this on a homebrew myself. It certainly used to be that this was impossible. Given that the Path of the Beast is very new - it could be a new feature they added specifically for it.

Appreciate it, y'all.
