Trying to figure out a way to get a homebrew magic weapon with a Greatsword base to output bludgeoning rather than slashing damage. It seems like the "Replace Damage Type" entry in the Modifier Type field on the Create Modifier page ought to do what I want, but when I choose that, the only available option as a replacement type is Radiant, rather than any of the other dozen damage types in D&D. Am I missing something?
No, unfortunately you're not missing anything. This is a known issue. I think Radiant is there because they needed it for a published magic item, and for whatever reason didn't add the rest of the options for homebrewers.
The only thing I've ever heard from "official" DDB sources (either a mod or staff) is that 5e was intentional about "not needing" more weapon types/variations, that folks should be able to reskin weapons using the existing official ones.
Thank you, though, for raising the issue again. If enough people request this, Curse may eventually decide to make it available. (That and changing the damage die of weapons)
Oh, for the moment, the work around is to create a "Custom attack" on the character sheet; but that has be redone of the character sheet of every character with that weapon, which is a pain if you are making a mundane weapon you want multiple people to be able to use.
i just saw this thread because i am having a similair issue, it really sucks that weapons don't have a toggle for damage type in the homebrew settings, got a slashing weapon that does fire when attuned, but unfortunately can't realize it due to this limitation
EDIT: never mind, it's been fixed, there is a modifier type literally called ''replace damage type'', the issue is resolved!

Alright, thanks. I guess I'll just keep it as is and tell my player "remember, although this says slashing, it actually does bludgeoning damage."
Alternatively consider simply replacing the Greatsword with a Maul.
