hi there i was playing the sunless citadel and got the sickle-bladed glaive that does 2d10+2 damage is there a way to change the damage for the weapon i tryed to custom weapon but didnt give me an option to change damage.
You can through the Manage Custom option on your character sheet. See this post. You can create a new custom item using the exact damage dice and additional damage modifier. You would select in the second row of options Dice Count 2, Die Type 10, and Fixed Value 2. Also in the range box put 10, as polearms add 5 feet to the reach of the weapon. lastly click the boxes for Proficient and Display as Attack. Sorry, LASTLY lastly, below that put in the name, sickle-bladed glaive.
Where is the second row of options? I tried making a halberd that does 1d12 + 1d4 and the 1d4 part worked but when i tried to change the damage die of the halberd to a d12 using the Melee Weapon Attack in modifiers of the homebrew item it didn't work and kept it at d10.
You cannot do any such thing through your character sheet. The most you can do is add damage and "to hit" bonuses through the character sheet.
I've been trying to find a way to change the weapon die on a crossbow to reflect my use of a Bloody Fury Tattoo and the closest I've come is in the homebrew items, adding a Modifier of Magic Damage - Necrotic and setting the 4d6 inside that modifier. Unfortunately the 4d6 still only shows in the notes/flavor text of the item and not in the Action section of the character sheet, which was my goal. If anyone knows how to actually change a Hand crossbow to show 5d6 instead of the normal 1d6 please let me know.

You can't AFAIK. Best you can do is add a custom action to roll the damage.
