I need your brains and wit, fellow gamers. I'm a fairly new d&d player, and I have a task which I'm struggling with and a week to come up with the craziest cunning plan -
before i begin, we are playing decent into avernus so this is both a spoiler alert and a request not to spoil this for me, i want to explore more options for my new character, i don't want to know what happens next :)

this is the situation as -I- know it -
At some point, when all seemed lost in a huge fight in one of the dungeons, we entered another scene. I'm no longer my character, but a marilith. stripped from any former glory, and hated by.. well, all. my demon lord is Yeenoghu, whom I despise. My goal is to snatch, by all means, a soul from some wicked auction held by night hags, my life depends on it. Unfortunately, that's the goals of my fellow players, too. And sadly, the odds are awfully against me. My knowledge (as a player) of the demon and devils is very limited, what I do know is that I have some followers (my cr is 15, I can have up to 5 creatures that their total cr is 15) and I know there are at least some traps. my enemies are an ice demon and Ultroloth, and whatever crazy plan they'll come up with.
my target is clear, i need to level up my strategy game. as i'm thousands years old, i can try and convince our GM to let me use magical items/favors to aid me.
I have some sort of a plan, but it is still dull. So I guess my question is - what would you do, how would you convince the night hags to hand me the poor soul, and why? Also, who's a good choice for my little army, cuz as I know my group, we will end up fighting to death 😂
I'm confused. Is each party member basically playing the role of a conflicting demon trying to ruin this auction, or were you tasked with this alone while also playing your own character and you and the party will also be at this auction?

each of us represents a different demon, fighting for his/her master's will. the consequence of this scene will determine where the adventure goes, the arch-devil/demon who wins will have an influence over the rest of the story.
the soul in auction is actually one of our group. he doesn't know who he's fighting for, might be his own doom :)
Are you more interested in less minions that are stronger or many weaker monsters to fill out you 15 CR limit? Also, do they all have to be fiends or can you get away with a random construct or aberration here or there?

If my idea is awesome enough, i'll find a 'magic item' that will allow me to use it.
for example, it is possible that during my thousands years of life, i've come across a djinni lamp or maybe i've become friends with a green hag because of a mutual enemy.
as Yeenoghu is rather savage, i want something that does make some sense. he gave me minions, they are probably vile and barbaric and not very wise. but i am, as i play the role of a cunning creature that lost her former glory. so, what i was thinking is 3-4 hell hounds (*pack tactics, as a brute force/power multiplier - if things get rough for me) would make sense and only take 9-12 CR. also, i've manipulated another night hag coven into helping me. i might need to fight them later on, as i kind of suggested to trade another soul for the one in question. didn't said who's though, i the demon don't have one - but my poor tiefling does.she's way to enthusiastic about selling her soul, and i'm addicted to making our dm think of the weirdest ways to hunt me.
back to me-the-marilith - an ally, that's far more interesting than another minion. i'm thinking something more cunning, a creature that is unlikely to owe or ally me and why would it. that's where i began second guessing my plan, cuz nothing is really solid here.
