I am looking for some good input into a homebrew summoner class that I am making. If you have any fun ideas for subclasses or features, please tell me. So far, my friend and I have come up with one decent subclass, The Infernal Lawyer, which makes contracts with demons in order to summon them.
Might want to wait a few weeks for Tasha's to come out as there's supposed to be a bunch of new summoning magic therein.
FWIW, in game lore and most games "infernal" describes Devils, who are more likely to engage in contractual dealings (hence the Lawful Evil bent to the 9 Hells). Demons are "abyssal" and more anarchic in bent. In other words, Devils can agree to words of bonding, Demons will submit to raw power.

Jander Sunstar is the thinking person's Drizzt, fight me.
I have a bunch of ideas, but that's because I literally just started working on one of these, myself. Heavily influenced by Pokémon and Yuna from Final Fantasy X. Did a lot of conceptual juggling to prevent it from being something that could be a subclass for an existing class, or just a selection of spells and/or feats. Wanted to really justify a full class as much as possible. Working name right now is the "Menagerist."
Really hoping to have at least a full test build ready by this weekend. Not for any reason, I just wanna see how it works.

Take a look at the Circle of Shepards Druid, as they're summoning based
