Had an idea for two spells today that I've quickly loaded into here. Does anyone have any thoughts or comments on them (Balance, Suggestions, etc.)? Constructive criticism welcome!
Silver Shield is intended to be a non-concentration protection spell that provides a general benefit of half cover wherever it points, and serves as an intercept for the attacks of a single creature (selection limited by sight only). The main questions I have are whether the conditions for ending the spell (damage in one turn, disintegrate) seems balanced for the level and the likelihood of it happening. I see the main use as protecting the caster from a single powerful enemy, or allowing the caster to close range against an enemy with a long range attack (like a giant, or anyone wielding a longbow).
Marionette is intended to be both a debuff on the target (it is intended that they still have their turn available to them, just with significant penalties since they have to fight against the strings) and a control spell on your turn to use them to move and attack enemies. I imagine the penalties applying to the attacks you make while controlling them them 1) for balance and 2) because manipulating anothers limbs like a puppet puts a damper on fine motor control. I've called it a necromancy spell since it reminds me of the Bloodbending ability from Avater the Last Airbender, though the mechanism is different here.
