I basically have a faction within my homebrew world that belong to a house of hunters. They’ve been “cursed” by the mother of cryptids which allows them to access certain abilities of some cryptids which they use to hunt down cryptids. I was thinking it could be a cool blood hunter subclass, what do you guys think?
Oooh, I suggest that you can make this similar to like a Totem Barbarian subclass where a player has several cryptid origins to choose from to determine the source of their blood hunter powers. Like at level 3, they embrace the traits of one cryptid and gain features based on their choice. Then when they level up in this class, they gain more features depending on the corresponding cryptid they chose.
This sounds cool, I can't wait to see if you do make it!
Would one of the class features be that their magic disrupts attempts to scry on the character resulting in the vision becoming blurry and out of focus, with the scry sensor being moved 50+ feet away from them?
I think this is a cool idea. Even if there weren't so many good cryptids to choose from from outside the game, imagine what a fantasy world's cryptids could be.
That could be an interesting ability. One of the cryptids abilities if they choose to have the source of your power coming from it, maybe something like the wendigo.
i believe D&D has its fair bit of cryptids. If anything the ones I would have for the cryptid hunter to choose from would be.
