So, I've been wracking my brain for days about this. I've also read essentially every forum entry ever produced about it.
I am building a caster subclass for the BH specifically themed around hemomancy. It *should* be a half caster just like pally, and I absolutely cannot figure out how to get it to add spells to the spell list.
I've created a spellcasting feature. I've added the equivalent "oath" spells in a feature. I've checked (and unchecked) all the relevant features in the basic information section. I've also attempted to add the spells via an added list feature. When I reset the character sheet and re-level the character, the TEXT option pops at the correct level (3 in this case). So, when I set the character to 3, it pops up a named option "Blood Rite Spells" and I can see the table I built with the correct levels and spells gained at those levels listed. HOWEVER, when I click over to the character sheet...when I try to "manage" spells, it does not provide the regular list of spells I *should* be able to learn and it ONLY shows one of the spells that I have listed as being gained at level 3 (Inflict Wounds). This spell appears in my ACTIONS list, but it does not appear on my spell sheet.
The strange thing about this is that I created exactly the same feature using exactly the same parameters to grant the character SPARE THE DYING at level 1 and this shows up appropriately. But any spell above that will not.
I am well and truly stumped and I REALLY want to be able to play this character with the proper spell/progression implemented to the character sheet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: So...it seems that if you are attempting to create a new subclass for ANY class, you can ONLY use spell progression if that class already has a subclass which HAS some kind of spell progression. So, for example, since only PROFANE SOUL has spell progression already coded...no matter what I do, I can ONLY get a subclass - even built from scratch - using the BH template to use that progression. I tried to recreate this across various subclasses and it seems to be accurate. I could not, for instance, ever get a paladin subclass to use the full table progression of a cleric.
I realize this makes sense in terms of balance, because certain classes obtain abilities at certain levels and their progression is built around that ability/spell distribution. But, honestly, unless there's some background coding issue with allowing this in homebrew, I don't see what the problem is and would prefer the functionality be extended to ALL classes.

Hey, everyone...
