I should probably add you get much more if you simply multiclass to fighter or paladin. Sure you loose out on your level 20 features, but what you gain in return tends to make up for it.

Its much more complext than that.
Unless it is a level 20 one shot very few characters will reach level 20, and if they do they will only have level 20 features for a very small part of the campaign.
What is more important is you are always a level (or more) behind in your main class. For example if your main is a full spell caster they will not get level 3 spells until level 6. A one level dip may give level 3 spell slots but there is a world of difference in damage between a fireball and an upcasted Aganazzers scorcher. A dip in Paladin also requires 13 in Charisma (OK for bards but a problem for bladesingers) and 13 strength (a problem for nearly all characters).
To assess whether is is best to take the Weoon master feat or multiclass you need to look at each level you are likely to play and see what you lose and gain in each option, and then assess whether over the campaign which is better overall. I would expect more often than not the better choice is to take the feat but is in build specific.

Does anyone know if there is a feat for weapon mastery? or have a good homebrew one that adds it?
You don't need homebrew for that; the Weapon Master feat from the Player's Handbook does exactly that. See here.
