Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: New / a few years / veteran Timezone: PST Schedule: Mondays 8pm-11-12pm Roles sought: 1-2 Players Game style: Roleplay heavy, we also will be streaming each session onto twitch!
We had a couple of players say they were able to consistently make it to sessions each held monday, and since then, one player has dropped out entirely and another has made a habit of missing every other week. I'm looking for a committed, fun/silly/or grounded player to fill this spot with any level 3 class you'd like. Again these sessions will be streamed weekly so im emphasizing heavily on consistency.
My name's Jake, im the DM, we're streaming at Mistershnitzel channel on twitch if you'd want to take a peek at the goofball goblin that's DM'ing, and we've posted all of these sessions to youtube as well.
alternate question is... out of curiousity. Any breakdown on other classes or what they like to play? (i.e. someone loves being the smarty. someone likes being the beat face, yakno the vague outline) I'll check some of the videos but off hand I'm curious if the group was pre-established adventurers with roles. or random mash of folks without a cohesive group roles.
How would the new character be intended to join? i.e. is it a phase in and phase out with previous. Handwavium style. Or did the others get killed off and new come in with some kind of story beat (with the oddities of someone in that world joining the group that that story tends to bring hah)
any specific classes off limits (due to GM or othe players having them and not wanting double ups etc) or races?
any houserules or otherwise?
what system is being used? i didn't figure it out from quick look at the vid screen.

So we have a simic-mutant Warlock that is defintely an apathetic, know-it-all, a shy but Friendly Elf monk, the grumpy does-it-my-way fairy wizard, and a silent ever so psychotic Dragonborn Barbarian
the last character that left was said to have ventured off to find something they had left behind in a dungeon, but that dungeon was only a dream sequence the party had shared, so the member not returning wasn't super out of the ordinary..(also they left at a super inopportune time so we kinda just had to make the best of it, I.E. simplifying a boss fight for a party with no healer)
any classes/races you have in mind are up for discussion, nothing too meta-gamey, right
were using 5e, i should've probably mentioned that
and no, not any major house rules other than improv-cohesion for homebrew stuff

Oh sorry. i meant system as in. the online board I see in the videos. Roll20, Fantasy grounds, Foundry.
Oh right, we're using Foundry! ive tried working with roll20 for about a year or so and it just had so many, consistent issues that ive never experienced on foundry.
I am currently creating an Alchemist Artificer. Have a rough outline of a character backstory. Quick question. I've played 1.5 sessions of Strahd, but do you know if I'd have starting gear, starting gold, purchases etc. Or would they be starting with nothing given the setting? (Alchemist aritificers eventually tend to want specific things over time. since some of their class abilities require items. So I can know to avoid or not. (homunculus for instance 100g gem (usually pearl to use with identify) etc)
I'll likely toss something up tonight or tomorrow. ). Then i'll post a bit about me, and the character etc for review. Though no worries if it closes before I finish. Life timing (currently also moving a bit)
I'm Z. I'm in my mid 30s. I haven't played 5E in a few years but consistently play some Pathfinder. As a player I tend to play more of a secondary character, not a lead character. I like being versatile. Tend to lean towards more stoic than goofy, but don't mind goofy. I'm a librarian by trade. Actually the last 5E game I played was a post by post of Strahd that was paused indefinitely (highlight to see spoiler) (only got to the first villiage, and a villiage cheif I think. the house was attacked at night and we fought some zombies.). The character below is actually that same character (albiet 1 level lower now).
I am currently in Arizona time zone, which is currently the same as Pacific time. I'll be moving soon for a new job. I do not currently forsee an issue with timing of the game and that. But I should note it because it is possible if they change my hours it could become an issue post daylight savings. Arizona does not do daylight savings, so when that occurs I'll be an hour ahead. Which may have some trouble for longest lasting sessions, depending on how life is in half a year. Wanted to state this for clarity. I'm fine if ya'll want a few testing sessions. (the perverbial Guest character in an RPG) that can be made permimant if we all fit well together, or take his exit if we don't. I always think having a trial period is a good idea for new game/new person
Zied the Alchemist/Genielock. Backstory is in the character notes He has some character traits in said note section as well. How it connects to the situation is up for debate. Whether he ended up there on accident, or if he is there searching for materials for his ultimate goal concerning his fiance's situation. As a note, generally not planning to have her storyline involved directly. Other than some flavor moments during rest periods. Sealed in the genie ring workshop. Zied has a litle bit of healing, a little bit of ranged damage, can muddle through close range fighting. Warlock (genie-Dao) 1 and then Artificer. He'll take Alchemist next level up (so character level 4). Genie is represented in his backstory, and he uses a ring for the genie vessel. In which is generally his workshop and creature comforts (as well as a backstory related things). currently I built him standard but if he loses one or more of his starting equipement due to the pre-amble or if he gains any for the story up to now, just let me know what to alter etc.
