Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online / Face-to-face Experience: DM - New, Player - Few Years Location/Timezone: Clearwater, FL EDT (GMT-4) Availability: Monday, Thursday, Friday 7pm-12am Preferred role: DM Game style: Casual/Hack N Slash (RP is based upon the players willingness to interact)
Platform will be F2F if everyone's in the area, otherwise over Discord voice with DnDBeyond as the platform for the character sheets. Nothing super complicated. Just your sheets, your voice, and maybe a dice roller.
Hi! I’m a bit of a new DM but I’ve started running an Out of the Abyss campaign with my family, and while I’m still a bit rough at it, we’re all enjoying it enough that I’ve been thinking of opening up some of my free time to running another campaign.
I’m what I like to call an equal-opportunity DM, meaning that unless I notice discussion and a mutually agreed upon plan, I will be asking each player individually what they would like/intend to do before progressing with anything. Having played with a variety of groups, I’ve noticed one thing in common with every dissatisfied game I’ve played in: Getting talked over sucks. With me, you don’t get your way through being the loudest, but through teamwork.
That said, there are things I do not like and will not accept in my campaigns: Harsh or mean language, demeaning or insulting others, and refusal to cooperate and get along. You’re going to be saving the world with these people, the least you can do is be respectful and courteous to one another (and me, because it never pays to piss off the DM)
There’s only one small catch: Because I need a physical copy in order to keep the world straight, I will be technically running a Pay2Play game, where players make one (and only one) small payment to join. This fee is to cover book cost and would be the cost of the book divided by the number of players. (The highest priced book comes to about $6usd per person for a 5 person team)
On the plus side? I will allow any published race/class automatically, even Ravnica, and as long as I see no fault with the build of a home brew I might even be willing to allow those.
Still with me? GREAT! If you’re still interested, please just reply with your availability, top three modules you'd like to play (Out of the Abyss is off-limits, I'm already running one of those), your character (race and class minimum), and your playstyle. Feel free to include anything else you think might help in the selection process.
