Kothar was originally meant to be more sadistic/insane, rather than the Bill Cipher-esque chaotic person he is/was. And he was never really supposed to be redeemed/less evil, that was a surprise even to me. Also originally he was a rogue. Then he was a Warlock. Then a PC. Now he's just a demon lord lol. Everyone else mostly stayed the same, although some characters underwent changes to their stories (Simmon, Zeph in a way, Varog and Dirrian). Some of the characters were created on the spot/via tavern-related shenanigans (Kelnadan, for example).
Oh, and Amser went from an Echo Knight who got blasted with Dunamantic Energy (a la Tracer from Overwatch, kinda) to an Echo Knight possessed by a Shadow Demon. And the name Irhtos originally belonged to a Lizardfolk Barbarian character that I never ended up using. Technically might still belong to that character... I don't really know what race Irhtos was before he died. He was a prince, though, which fits with OG Irhtos... wait was Irhtos a lizardfolk? *gasps* That expands my world's lore so much aaaaaah I need to write this down in my world Doc crap ok ok ok-
I know how you feel about that. Laricina I literally made up on the spot as a joke. I was bored and introduced Inna (having no idea who or what she was in the slightest). Also, you're right that OG Irhtos was a lizardfolk.

It is a Lizardfolk name... But also it sounded cool and evil so I commandeered it. However, him being a Lizardfolk doesn't really answer the question of what world he's from... is he from Tiamota, or did he come from another material plane, as I believed I mentioned at some point in the past. If he's from Tiamota, that opens up possibilities for the ancient empire of Azuja... but if he isn't, then that allows me to use the fun dimension hopping/dimension destroying undead who is 100% creating a crapton of Domains of Dread wherever he goes. Which is also cool.

I think he would get along with the Shadow King. Either that, or the two unspeakable undead beings of darkness would try to murder each other.

Yeah, a fight between them would be fun. The Shadow King has a bunch of OP abilities, but most of them don't work against undead. He can also summon a CR 21 ancient black dragon 1/Day.

Niiiiice. Yeah, the Wraith King has a pretty reliable Shadow summoning ability, and when he dies Irhtos immediately materializes. A la a Mythic Trait, but a whole lot stronger. And Irhtos has a bunch of other Undead/Monstrosities/Aberrations that he can summon, a bunch of HP and AC, and immunity/resistance to a lot of damage types. But if the Shadow King has immunity to Fire and Necrotic Damage, then Irhtos is screwed. Probably.

And he is, so yeah... the real fight is between the dragon and Irhtos. But then again, Irhtos isn't really the type of deathly spirit that likes one-on-one confrontation, so he'd probably manipulate an adventuring party or five to go fight the Shadow King. Plus maybe an army.

And he is, so yeah... the real fight is between the dragon and Irhtos. But then again, Irhtos isn't really the type of deathly spirit that likes one-on-one confrontation, so he'd probably manipulate an adventuring party or five to go fight the Shadow King. Plus maybe an army.
The Shadow King hasn't left his room in... ever. He mostly has his vampire servants do the work for him. Aellerix and Kygoros are far more combat-focused than the Shadow King (even though they're much weaker).

With a person who has two characters and (might) will have a third character, how do people deal with the three-character limit? I'm not against it just wondering how to juggle them
Just make loads of characters and only have 3 active at a time.
*I had an idea. Perhaps Solanar could start a group that is similar to the Guardians but instead of defending, they kill evil before it strikes. They can work closely together with the Guardians, and I suppose Guardians can actually join this too if they wanted too (because Solanar still wants to join the Guardians and be the leader of this). Between the Guardians and this group, nothing evil could affect Lesta. Either Solanar's group would kill them before they had the chance, or the Guardians would stop them if Solanar missed it. Not everyone has to be pure and good and everything, Solanar is willing to accept anyone who is fairly good and trustworthy, because even though Solanar is all about good, he's willing to make some sacrifices concerning purity if it means he can beat evil (that's why he uses all his evil powers). This means people who don't meet the Guardians standards (like Atemos) can join. They would do stuff like traveling to other planes toi kill something that might affect Lesta later, while the Guardians never attack without being provoked. The Guardians are the defense, Solanar's group is the offense.*
*I don't think this would be endorsed by Yondalla, as that kind of thing is kind of evil to her standards. Also, the reason Atemos wasn't let into the Guardians is because he tried to murder Kane. And Astara. And probably other people.*
*Yes, he did. But Solanar believes in second chances.*
*Also, I don't see why Yondalla would object: Solanar's life mission is to protect people. He stops the evil before it can taint the lives of the innocent with fear. I'm going to quote LOTr here, cause it pretty much summarizes this:
Peace and freedom, do you say? The North would have known them little but for us. Fear would have destroyed them. But when dark things come from the houseless hills, or creep from sunless woods, they fly from us. What roads would any dare to tread, what safety would there be in quiet lands, or in the homes of simple men at night. Yet we would not have it otherwise. If simple folk are free from care and fear, simple they will be, and we must be secret to keep them so.
That is Solanar's life mission. He will not let evil near the innocent. The light must be untainted by darkness. The simple, innocent people must never see the darkness, for they would not be simple and good if they did.*
*That doesnt mean she would agree. Read lore stuff.*
*I didn't say she would. I'm just saying, this is a pretty convincing argument, especially when it would be delivered by a character with INT and WIS 18 and CHA 20*
*He can deliver an argument directly to a god that isnt the one he worships? And, no, it isnt convincing in the slightest*
*It's in keeping with the Halfling theme of innocence.*
But it isn't in keeping with Yondalla being welcoming.

They would definitely 'get along.' By that I mean they'd both pretend to be friends while simultaneously plotting the other's inevitable downfall.

Heh, yeah. What CR is Irhtos? The Shadow King is CR 28 (he's currently the most powerful being in Borrelia).

That's... complicated. The Wraith King (his 'mortal' form- possessed Amser) is CR 20. Irhtos (as the shadow monster) is CR 26. If things go well, he later becomes CR 30. If things go less well, he later becomes CR 23. He's a multipart boss. But, technically, he's a CR 26 Undead.

Probably.
