Before joining, please read the rules and lore in the upcoming spoilers. I know there's a lot of lore, but I put some time into it, and hopefully it's worth reading.
Rules:
1. No PVP without permission from both people playing the characters. If that is agreed to, then PVP may occur outside, but no such fighting may happen inside the Tavern itself.
2. If you wish to have an encounter or something similar, let's talk about it over in PMs and I will see if I can run it.
3. Please do not use overly vulgar language (such as repeated swearing or the f%&@ word)
4. Respect people!
5. If an argument gets out of hand, there is always PMs to talk about it so it doesn't clutter up the main thread.
6. Please keep things appropriate and go easy on any gory details or any brutal actions. This also includes 18+ scenes or content (Fade to black/suggestive scenarios). We are not aware of the age of thread participants or how comfortable they are with it, so please keep this stuff down and be mindful of these kinds of things. If you and other players would like to do things like this, please take it to a PM.
7. Please go easy on quote chains for ease of mobile users. If someone has very long chains, please let them know in a respectful way.
8. Please put "Happy new year!" in your first post to show you've read the rules.
9. Have fun!
Lore:
What you see:
Grass layers the floor, covering most of the area around you. It’s a dark green and looks like it’s been well watered. Fields, crops, strange inventions. Figures. Dwarves? Yes, they’re dwarves. The dwarves seem to be managing steam powered, dark copper-coloured machines. These machines seem out of place amongst all the nature around you, but they also seem to be a part of it. Vines grow over many of them, and they seem to be planting in the fields. They come in all different shapes and sizes, some have wheels, some hover. None have facial features - or a head for that matter- though, so you reckon they’re not conscious.
Your eyes begin to wonder further. Where you expect to see rolling countryside, or cities in the distance, you instead see a great wall of stone. It wraps all around, creating a walled in area of 10, maybe 15 square miles. But this doesn’t look like any wall you’ve seen before. It seems… natural, as if it wasn’t built, but carved out. This is when it occurs to you to look up. A cave roof stands between you and the sky, solid rock. Hanging from it are hundreds of stalactites, all which slowly drip lava that falls the 600m down to the floor, ending up as a cool, solidified pebble. Around this massive cavern are 6 colossal marble pillars, stretching up to support the roof. They have incredible carvings engraved into them, something that you previously thought only an elf might be able to produce. Either these are some very skilled dwarves, or some incredibly accurate machines.
The pillars form a circle around the cave, and cast no shadows. You are surprised at the strength of them. Even though they are huge, and there are 6 of them, it seems the roof should just crush them. But then, something else catches your eye. In the middle of the great pillar circle, stands a massive statue. Massive doesn’t really do it justice. It’s a gigantic, magnificent statue. Made of a clean-cut stone, it looks as though it would have stood up straight, with a strong back and features of a god, and maybe even reached 1000m in hight. A masterpiece. But now it has gone down to one knee, and the cavern roof rests upon its shoulders. The moss-covered material it’s made out of seems lighter than the rocks around here, suggesting that it might have been created on the surface and moved down here. Its knees are crumbling and it’s supported by its long sword, which is firmly stuck in the ground. A slightly cracked crown sits on the statues head, but any gems once embedded into it have long been taken. This is what’s holding up the roof. The Fallen king, the Fallen Monarch.
What you hear:
Chirps. Buzzing bees. Even, somehow, the gentle woosh of the wind. The fact that this place is a cave doesn’t seem to have kept nature out.
What you smell:
The air is fresh, and there’s a slight sweet smell wafting around. Maybe there’s a beehive close by.
What you feel:
There’s heat radiating up from the ground, bringing warmth to your toes (If your character has toes) If you’re bare foot, you would also feel the soft grass underneath your feet.
The people:
90% of the people living here are dwarves, the others are similar deep dwelling creatures like deep gnomes, or new arrivals, like yourself.
The places:
There are many houses scattered around the area, along with churches, farms and mills. There is also the statue, which you may or may not be able to go inside. No big rivers seem to flow, but you see plenty of streams.
The history:
Ahetara was a land of fortune. A diverse world full of magic and architecture, the ideal place for a beautiful society. (If you want to know more about Ahetara, your characters may have to find out for themselves, as I’m only telling the history of the Fallen Monarch and the events which effected it) The fate of Ahetara is one of the multiverses greatest tragedies. Planet H5-9, or “The Interference” as the people called it, was a rouge exo-planet. This lone planet, coupled along with gravity, was the end of life on Ahetara. Gravity, the force that pulls matter towards black holes, that holds you to the ground beneath you, pulled H5-9 towards Ahetara. They swung past each other, narrowly missing, but the damage was done. This swing was enough to throw both planets out of their orbits, causing Ahetara to drift away from its star. Over the next months, the planet began to freeze, and only one colony of dwarves was able to survive. They moved to a deep underground cave near the core of the planet, which was still warm. Only one treasure could be brought with them, the statue of the late human king, “aulantinumas au domaximas.” They chose it because of its size, not because they liked statues of humans more than statues of dwarves. And so, the great statue was moved deep underground, and became the Fallen monarch, the legacy of a frozen world.
You may have been dragged out of your realm without your consent, sent here by a messed up plain shift, or you may have stepped through a corrupted ancient portal. (These are just examples, you choose what sent you here) The planet, Ahetara, wishes to have as many people witness its final years as possible, and is dragging people from all over the multiverse to this great cavern. Your character will appear on top of an ancient smoothed stone, facing towards the monarch, about 300 ft from it.
You may have up to two characters active at a time.
This Tavern is mainly just for roleplaying, but if you find yourself without someone to chat to, you can go to the main bar and ask the taskmaster for something to start a quest.
A square portal of blinding white light opens in front of the statue.
A 7-foot tall metallic humanoid with Tiefling like features, such as a long tail, horns, and a pair of wings, Comes out of the portal, followed by a frost-fire human with a robotic arm.
Right over the ancient stone, a blueish light appears, softly shining, and slowly grows, before a figure drops out of it, landing softly on the stone. They appear to be an astral elf, with short, silvery hair, golden eyes that gleam like polished brass, and a very calm, collected demeanor. He is clad in leather armor, dyed with deep red and walnut brown colors. He holds a dark brown, almost black, staff with a chunk of foggy white crystal at the top, fitted into a carved out place in the wood. On his back is a simple wooden spear.
He looks around for a moment and then steps off the stone. Wearing no shoes, he feels the grass, and smiles.

“Hello there. I am Lunike and this is DRAKE. What might be the names and genders the council of robotics assigned to you?”
He then cast detect magic on everything, including the statue.
"Names STAR, he him and I'm not a robot, I'm a half elf, mostly." As he says this his arm vents some steam, and it's clear that he has cybernetic enhancements
