I had this crazy idea a ways back to make a tabletop RPG based on the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, and I imagine it would play similar to D&D board games like Wrath of Ashardalon. However, I'm completely at a loss as to how such a game would work. I mean, aside from creating rudimentary stat blocks for about 150 or so different Pokemon, and player character variations of some of them. Does anyone have any ideas for how such a game would work?
*I'm not necessarily asking for advice to make this irl, though I might attempt to adapt this into a game system. I'm mostly just wanting to have several people collaborate and create something that could be fun to play!*

I spent last night thinking of what the stat block for an enemy Pokemon would be like, and I've compiled an example here. Behold, Wurmple!
Wurmple
Class: Melee
Attack Types: Bug or Poison
Defense Type: Bug
Health: 45 Max HP
Actions:
If Wurmple is adjacent to a Player Pokemon, it attacks them for 12 damage of the same Type as one of its Attack Types, whichever does more damage if possible.
If Wurmple is not adjacent to a Player Pokemon, but is on the same Dungeon Piece as a Player Pokemon, Wurmple moves up to 5 tiles towards the closest Player Pokemon, attacking for 12 damage of either of its Attack Types, preferably one that does more damage, if it stops adjacent to its target.
If Wurmple does not share a Dungeon Piece with any Player Pokemon, it moves to another Dungeon Piece in the general direction of the closest Player Pokemon.
I took the Wrath of Ashardalon approach to the enemy Pokemon's stat block, where their actions and movement patterns are specifically laid out to display what Wurmple does in different situations. I also gave it two Attack Types, which are similar to damage types in D&D, in that Wurmple will pick the typing that its opponent takes more damage from when attacking: Wurmple's a low-level enemy, but they aren't dumb. I based the Wurmple's health off of the base stats of a level 1 Wurmple in the game, as I will for most Pokemon when applicable.
So, what do you think of Wurmple's stat block? Any suggestions, ideas, or comments?

There was actually a Pokémon RPG (whether it was fan made or not), but I’m sure you could find it on Reddit.
