We all know what the internet is, right? A global network that connects millions of people to apps, games, news, and plenty of other things. But have you ever stopped to think of what it actually looks like?
Imagine a seemingly endless city much more advanced than our own. Neon glowing towers rising from the digital ground, continuously moving as if they're seaweed in a current. Cables floating in the air hold cable cars, which hundred of thousand pieces of sentient code ride every day. The sky is not a sky, but a screen that simulates weather, with 1's and 0's falling on cloudy days.
In the center of it all is a building, surrounded by portals that lead to programs ranging from twitter, which flocks of blue birds fly in and out of all the time, to videogames like Zelda and Mario. This building is much smaller than the surrounding towers, but the sign in front says '๐ ๐ท๐ด ๐ ธ๐ ฝ๐๐ ด๐๐ ฝ๐ ด๐ เธฌเธืฉั, center of the programmed world'. This is where the adventure begins.
*Hi. I've recently been inspired to make an internet themed tavern. Here you can roleplay as a character or creature from a videogame, the humanoid representation of an app, and everything in between, including a virus (wink). But before we begin, let's go over the rules*
1. You know the rules. Keep things PG and keep fighting outside. If you don't follow this, then the coders may have to intervene.
2. When you intro a character, please explain what program they represent/are from. Not everyone knows that game or app.
3. Keep quote chains down. Nobody really seems to follow this rule much, so I ain't going to enforce it as much as 1.
4. The character limit is 6. Seems large at first, but once you decide to intro an entire party, it'll seem a tad bit smaller.
5. Say 'Advancement gave us this' in your first post to show you read the rules.
The tavern is much larger on the inside. Elevators lead from the ground floor, which is where all the rooms for rent are located, to a bar floor and even a betting floor, where you can play original games, such as cards or chess, for bytes, which is the currency here. On every floor, there is sentient code, glowing and lanky humanoids that come in a variety of colors, enjoying themselves. Behind the bar serving drinks is a variety of characters, including Austin from Homescapes, Goomba's from Mario, and a Machamp from Pokemon. There are many more interesting characters around, but you'll have to look for them. Let's get to it.
