The Game of Sellswords is a game played with a deck of forty cards. Cards are separated in Allegiance and Rank. A deck contains 4 allegiances and 10 ranks per allegiance. While the specific art of the cards and names of the allegiances might change, the ranks are always the same so that people know which card is which. The goal of the game is to make a winning formation.
At the start of the game every player draws two cards, this act is called the hiring. After the hiring the players can place their bets or pay the forfeit. Anything bet in this phase becomes the bounty. During the second phase the top 3 cards of the deck are revealed in what is called the approach. Everyone can use these three cards in a formation. After these three cards have been shown there is another round of betting. If a player forfeits at this point they do not need to pay a forfeit. After that the reserve is played. Two more cards are revealed from the top of the deck. After the reveal of these two cards people are once again allowed to bet or forfeit. If two or more players remain after the forfeit a battle is called. Players reveal their formations, and the person with the best formation wins.
Each card is determined by the roll of a d10 and a d4. The d10 determines the rank of the card, and the d4 the allegiance. If a card is rolled that’s already been pulled, there is a reroll.

Formations
Formations decide which player wins. The formations listed below are in order of weakest to strongest. If both players have a formation of the same strength the player with the highest ranked sellsword wins, the only exception is that a formation using a Big Monster always loses to a same strength formation that uses a Naive Adventurer. If no players can form a formation, their highest ranked sellsword hired wins.

That is awesome. You should check out competition of the finest brews, (link in my signature). I have seen a bunch of really cool homebrew stuff you have made and some of it could have fit in some of the categories in the competition. I also really liked that list of warlock patrons.

Personally, I would go for a Leviathan rather than Jormungand.

I AM A CAT PERSON. /\_____/\
She/her pronouns please. (=^.^=)
There is already a leviathan stat block in Mordenkainens, but i could make a new one for that.
If you could turn 1 character from a show or series into a monster with D&D-ified lore, what would that character be?
Bill Cipher
Oooh that would be cool. I would want the Collector and The Nowhere king.
For a Monster: The Night King from Game of Thrones
For a Character: The Goblin Slayer from Goblin Slayer
