I am looking for 1 or 2 players to join a pre existing party. They are still lvl 1 and have literally just started! I do not have content sharing so only use what is available to you when creating the character. You can be any official race except Unearthed Arcana races, and any official class (so far we have cleric, monk, fighter and sorcerer). You will start with no equipment and no money.
The campaign premise: For weeks, maybe months, you’ve been a prisoner in-transit. Sit down, stand up, march, eat, sleep; these are commands you’re used to. Now, the sack-cloth that has been obscuring your vision is removed. You see heavy metal bars slam shut behind you as two armoured hobgoblin guards escort you down a corridor, past a few doors and cells holding prisoners. You will be joining the party of fellow slaves, who just finished their introductory fight in the arena where they lost one of their party members.
This will not be an arena fighting campaign, it is only the starting point. If you're interested, please post character race, class and short backstory or character goals.
William grew up a commoner in the small village of Buckham, but it was clear from a young age that his military prowess was worthy of knighthood. He was admitted to a private military school at the age of 18, but he was expelled a year later with the dishonorable charge of "cowardice in combat" after a skirmish with an orc hunting party. Taking the name of William the Coward, he vowed he would not return to his village until he had overcome his cowardice and won himself a name among the greatest heroes in the land.
Personality Traits: I am one of the most skilled warriors of my age, but I cannot realize my full potential until I have overcome my innate cowardice.
Ideals: People are inherently good. It is our unique experiences and how we react to them which shape our character.
Bonds: I love a country lass, but I cannot bring myself to propose to her until I have proven myself worthy of her love.
Flaws: I am too cowardly to overcome my own cowardice.
Dhara has not led an ideal life. Born in the city of Waterdeep she was left abandoned around 8 years old for reasons she has never discovered. She initially tried to survive in the city with other street-folk, but eventually found greater comfort in either the surrounding mountains, or in the Underdark beneath the city. Her experience and natural abilities allowed her to survive there and explore the tunnels. She spent the majority of her time there at this point in her life.
Around the time of her 20th year, Dhara was awoken following a powerful nightmare in which she witnessed the destruction of Waterdeep as it was overcome by demons and fire raining from the sky. Since that day this vision haunts her each night as she sleeps. She may care about herself first, but the city from whence she came is dear to her and she would not have it destroyed. Though convinced her vision is a glimpse into the future she has discovered no information as to when or how it might come to pass.
She is quick and nimble, able to fit in and through spaces most can't. She has a keen eye, and a keen mind with a knack for finding her way around. Her skills with a bow come out of a need for survival, both for hunting for food, and for picking off dangers before they knew she was there. She is a loner by nature, having learned she can rely on no one but herself. Her first priority is to survive, and her second is to learn the cause of the fate of her home. Everything else is a distant third.
Backstory/Goals: Cwendlin has lived in the forest for much of his life, after fleeing from the guards in his home city when he was fairly young. He’d had to steal to survive and he’d made sure to steal only from those that could afford the loss. However, slavery was not for him. He’d escaped to the forest when he learned they were coming for him, and he’d managed to live in the forest for almost a decade safely. He should never have come back, but she’d needed him. He could never deny her, and it had cost him everything, including his freedom, and now possibly his life.
Backstory: Soren has hopes to be a master of the arcane but saw no value in study alone. He travelled the land and quickly had to come to terms with the fact that people couldn't be taken at face value. Too many nights of bedding down with a bunch of friendly travellers and awaking without money, items or shoes has started to instil some wariness in him but for an elf he can be an awfully slow learner. I'm sure this won't be the last time he awakens destitute, thankfully his craft keeps him warm and fed.
Backstory: Drak spent most of his time living alone in the forest minding his own business. Although he has tremendous strength, he only occasionally gets angry enough to unleash it. Latley he has been having problems with goblins and kobolds raiding his campsite and stealing his equipment and supplies... The first few times it happened he merely killed one or two that were responsible... but as it continued he decided to single handedly wage war against those creatures for their unprovoked hostility. Recently on a hunting trip he heard a loud SNAP and everything went dark... When he woke up next he was in a cell.
Character Goals: Get free, find some friends so he no longer has to live alone
Name: Zarmarir Race: Shifter/Wildhunt Alignment: Neutral Class: Rogue Backstory: Zarmarir hails from the Tribe of the Wolf in Icewind Dale. His tribe prides itself on its size and strength. Short, average Zarmarir experienced much ridicule and exclusion growing up. It wasn't until his first shift into his bestial form — the side effect of a curse placed on his mother — that he earned any respect. As he matured, his strangeness turned into advantage and his tribe learned to appreciate his gifts. Employed as a scout and messenger, Zarmarir found his place among the savage barbarians. Born to and growing with the heard has taught me many things about surviving in the wild conditions of the plain. As younglings we learned to hunt and kill. When i reached 20 I left my heard to find adventure and bring glory to myself and my heard!
Appears to be wearing nothing but Fur Pants stopping just above his knees and a cloak made of a bear he killed with the head still attached and covering his bald head. His Great axe is slung over his back and his 2 hand axes hanging at his sides. A pack slung over his shoulder holding all his belongings with a bed roll tied messily to the bottom and a rather messy hunters trap hanging off the side. With a pale grayish-white skin and scars all over he is standing with a grin.
Short Term and Long Term goals would be to smash foes and find glory. (Not a very intelligent character... Very good at smashing heads!)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

Name: Meep
Race/Class: Kobold Bard
Backstory: Like most Kobolds, Meep did everything for his tribe. He wasn't the strongest of warriors nor the fastest, but he was crafty and figured out quickly he could do as much banging two rocks together as a hunter with a spear could. Life was rather simple until an angry bugbear found his tribe's tunnel and started needlessly killing kobolds. Sending himself and others fleeing in a panic. Before Meep knew what happened, he was captured.
Name: Olokas Hanali Race: Wood Elf Class: Blood Hunter Background: Urban Bounty Hunter Backstory: Olokas grew up on the streets. From a young age he learned to beg, pickpocket and steal to get money or food, and eventually found himself tangled up in a street gang. In his late teens, he was caught by a bounty hunter during a job. Recognizing the hard life Olokas had led and the reasons he had ended up where he was, the bounty hunter took pity on him and offered to train him in his own profession as an alternative to a life of crime. Olokas accepted the offer and trained hard. One night, though, they were attacked by a werewolf while training. Olokas was injured in the fighting and infected. It was only then that the bounty hunter revealed a further secret, that he practiced blood magic. He taught Olokas to use this magic as well, for through it he would be able to control the curse within. Eventually, as his skills progressed far enough, Olokas started taking on bounties of his own and making a name for himself.
