The City of Splendors promises adventure waiting for those who seek it. It's nearly summertime in Waterdeep and trouble is brewing under the surface. Factions are at odds with one another, wicked rituals are being plotted, and there is rumor of a large sum of gold hidden somewhere in the city.
Looking for an urban adventure with mysteries to solve and a heist to pull off before the bad guys? Welcome to Waterdeep, the city of Splendors with a seedy underbelly invading all parts of it. Here you can stop evil from rising and threatening the city many are proud to call home, find a home and a place to belong yourself, and you may earn some nice rewards for a job well done. There's almost nothing that can't be accomplished in the great city of Waterdeep. (Accept crime. The City Watch urges everyone not to accomplish crime. Please.)
Hey, y'all. I'm a somewhat new-ish dm here looking to start up a W:DH campaign. I've been wanting to run it ever since it came out, but I only just discovered PbP, so I thought I'd give this a shot.
I'm looking for 3-5 players, level 1. All official races and classes allowed. Stats should be rolled. Preferably no evil characters unless you have a good reason that they would be working with the party and not against the party. Characters should preferably have a background in the city of Waterdeep, or a strong reason to be there. Please PM me with your characters, what they do, their familiarity with the city and its inhabitants, any factions if they're in one, whether you'd like to know your fellow party members before the start of the game. Anything else you deem important.
Any questions you have about the campaign can be asked here. I have content sharing on (though I have limited content).

"All will become equal now" | "Cause we're going to shout it loud, even if our words seem meaningless. It's like we're carrying the weight of the world"
I'm relatively new to the world of D&D, but I'm a writer by trade and plan on being active. Been doing a few one-shots, but I'm looking to involve myself in one full-fledged campaign.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
If there is still room I have a character I made for the same campaign but after being accepted it never got started. I'll roll for stats here and finish making them ready for this campaign.
Thank you all for your interest. I look forward to learning about your characters and playing with you!

Put simply, guaranteed charisma + communication rolls during this campaign. But you wouldn't know it initially. (sub-slot, put simply, different campaign, but joining this one)

This statement is meant to be both provocative and condescending. Look at these pathetic huddled masses in their private and closed games, cringing behind the policy of no homebrews and no custom content. This is an insult and injury even to fire types. HEED THIS! Your better off playing rpgmaker. It's everything this place wants to be when it grows up. Seriously. Otherwise, good luck, they will overdo things. All because of safety and security... kor.

Unfortunately, at this time I already have enough people. Thank you for your interest.

I know I'm going on a tangent, but could this character be approved:

Waterdeep would give Stella clues where the Goblin Alchemists are.
Careful, she has a dangerously powerful custom that has importance for my campaign - Eidolon Of Peace.

Not on your campaign, but joining this one.
It's possible to do several campaigns on a same game.
But it's your choice.
Last try.
