RELEASE NOTES
Grim Hollow: Lairs of Etharis provides 20 ready-made lairs, populated with some of the most dangerous monsters within the world of Etharis, their servile minions, and treasure. Designed to challenge characters ranging from levels 1-20, and offering a variety of plot hooks and adventure types, these lairs will challenge even the most battle-hardened souls.
Grim Hollow: Lairs of Etharis is published by Ghostfire Gaming.
This title is also supported within our Maps tool!
Syncing Entitlements
If you don’t see any of the content from the book (preorder bonuses or otherwise), please be sure to resync your entitlements. You can do so by following these steps:
Once completed, your content should appear! If you experience any issues with accessing your content please reach out to our Support Team.
ENABLING CONTENT FOR YOUR CHARACTER
To use content from Grim Hollow: Lairs of Etharis in the character builder, you will need to set the character preferences to include the Grim Hollow source category (see the .gif below).
CHARACTER OPTIONS: FEATS
Feats and Feat Options
Adroit Crafter and Careful Crafter
These new feats take advantage of the salvage system in Grim Hollow: Lairs of Etharis. D&D Beyond does not currently support the ability to craft items and these feats functionality is limited to text-only. Players can use the "Add Custom Item" feature on their character sheet to help simulate the salvage system. Please take a look below to see how to add custom items:
Go to Inventory, then click Add Equipment.
Click on Add Custom Item
Then fill out the details of the item you're adding.
CHARACTER OPTIONS: MAGIC ITEMS
Actions on Magic Items. Some of the new magic items grant specific actions as part of their magic. D&D Beyond does not currently support the ability to attach actions directly to magic items; we have included charges and associated spells where appropriate, but in the case that an items functionality is otherwise text-only, we recommend creating Custom Actions on the character sheet to represent those items.
CHARACTER OPTIONS: SPELLS
Heartseeker. This spell uses a school of magic not supported in D&D Beyond, Sangromancy. The addition of this school does not change the functionality of this spell. However, the spell utilizes the character's hit dice in order to deal damage - which is not supported in the character sheet.
Is it now standard to sell books/products on DND beyond without offering the individual purchase options? I noticed this for the Book of Many things as well and I personally enjoyed being able to buy only the pieces I wanted
IIRC it was mentioned with the tal'doriei campaign setting reborn that individual purchase options would not be available due to it being partnered content.
Hello! I bought this adventure "Lairs of Etharis". The story is very nice, the first campaign was fun, everything ok ... but ... I have a real problem to locate on the map the locations where the campaigns take place. eg house of bones, first challenge, i don't know where it is on the map. I mean on the big map of the Etharis island not the small maps. Can you help me please with some location tips?
Hunter Sense should be available for the Ranger class - currently it's just set to Druid.
I'm guessing that the spells added currently are just the ones that the monsters/npcs have available to them in the various chapters of Lairs of Etharis.
Any chance of getting the Grim Hollow Player's Guide as well please? 😊

Hunter Sense is a Druid-only spell (largely because Rangers don't receive cantrips - outside of the Druidic Warrior fighting style from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything). If our partners at Ghostfire Gaming issue an errata (or tell us otherwise), we'll update the spell accordingly.
You're correct - Lairs of Etharis is intended to be a self-contained experience - giving you everything you need to run the game, without needing to purchase additional material elsewhere!

Yeah, I know it's a bit of a grey area, as the Grim Hollow Player's Guide specifically lists two cantrips as being available to the Ranger class, but like you said, the framework of the Ranger class isn't setup to be able to learn or cast cantrips. 🤷♀️
I would guess that is not intended because it would point a partnered contend book toward a non-free magic item from another book. That should probably be the normal Mithral Armor as a Half-Plate, right?
> Lairs of Etharis is intended to be a self-contained experience - giving you everything you need to run the game, without needing to purchase additional material elsewhere!
The Eldritch Priest uses something called the "Eldritch Effects table" for its Prophecy of Doom action, but I cannot find it on the monster's page.

It's further down on that page, at the end of the Description.

Feedback for the site:
The table is only present in the book's page, here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/loe/apostate-temple#EldritchPriestStatBlock. A lot of the "point" of D&D Beyond is the quickly accessible links found in the digital-first pages ("Monsters>Eldritch Priest, Spells>Fireball" etc, rather than their original listings in their respective compendiums adapted from paper sources.)
The Eldritch Effects table is not included on the monster page, here: https://www.dndbeyond.com/monsters/4037102-eldritch-priest. If it's not going to be directly in the Encounter Builder stat block, then the next best thing is going to be it being included one click away from the Encounter Builder on the monster page via the View Details button. And the next best thing after that would be linking directly to the book source from the stat block. And the next best thing after that would be linking from the monster page to the book page. But none of those are options.
If, during an online game, I have the Encounter Builder pulled up in one tab, a VTT in another, and the encounter is 4 different monsters from 3 different sources I paid for on D&D Beyond (which is ostensibly the point of having the mix-and-match power of the Encounter Builder), it's not practical to have to go through the full sourcebooks for the complete info for each monster, especially when I have 3 more encounters coming up over the course of the session, all with new monsters from any number of DDB sources.
Even if I wasn't using the EB, I still can't go straight from the monster page to the book page. And even if I quickly searched "Eldritch Priest" or "Eldritch Effects" on DDB, it doesn't pull up either the monster page or the source's page.
The table (and thus the monster's actual usability) aren't really "available" in an immediately accessible way that doesn't interrupt the flow of the game. It's a CR 2 monster; it won't last long enough to warrant me copying the table and adding it to another tab of notes to reference or me pulling up the book page alongside everything else when its encounter comes around. It's just not a scalable solution for the endless legions of monsters that will also come and go so quickly. These disposable mooks aren't worth the friction, it just becomes easier to take the path of least resistance: monsters whose information is fully listed on the most accessible page(s).

Why are individual purchase options not available or appearing for this product. When the content says that it is an option?

"Not getting cut into bloody littles slices, That's the key to a sound plan."
This inaccurate text has been flagged with the team. It is standard copy that hasn't been updated yet. Thank you for raising this

So Individual purchase will not be the standard then?
There are no individual purchasing options for this book at this time

Is there any way the maps can be posted with no gridlines? Almost every other map on DNDbeyond has a version with no lines, and I much prefer it.
In the section https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/dnd/loe/storm-sanctuary#7NestingCave you can find a "mithril half-plate armor" and the link points toward the https://www.dndbeyond.com/magic-items/722094-mithral-half-plate-1 from Acquisition Incorporated...
