I want to clarify for myself one thing about this spell and the sorcerer's and warlock's passives. If I cast a spell on an ally's quiver, will the passives trigger when the ally is hit with arrows from that enchanted quiver?
Hello, for some reason my previous post was taken down so let me just quickly summarize the answer for you here in case you didn't get a chance to see it:
This interaction is tricky since the target of the Flame Arrows spell is actually the quiver (Range of Touch) and you are not dealing damage to the quiver. However, these two passive Features only seem to care that you cast a spell that deals damage (generally), not necessarily that you are damaging the target of your spell.
The long duration of the Flame Arrows spell, as well as the explicit mention of other situations that can result in "the spell's magic ends" or "the spell ends" suggest that indeed this spell effect (as a result of casting the spell) is ongoing and is actually causing the extra fire damage. So, yes, it does appear to me that you are casting a spell "that deals damage".
Keep in mind that both of these passive Features only allow you to gain a bonus to one damage roll of that spell. So, even if multiple arrows are successfully fired, the extra damage from those arrows all come from the same spell, so the Features would only be triggered to affect a total of one damage roll (one arrow).
