It seems the plethora of weapons, armors, and items in general, have been whittled down into a more comprehensive list. For those of us who like the idea of working with specific weapons that are not on the list, ie Katana, it is common to simply reskin something with similar stats.
Katana could be a reskinned Rapier only changing damage to Slashing vs Piercing.
A Bardiche could be a Pike, again changing damage to Slashing vs Piercing.
I know most people here wouldn't like it, but I would have been happy if the weapons had been even less defined.
In Shadows of the Demon Lord I love that: chain, cutlass, long knife, scourge, small sword are all just 1d6 with the Light property and rapier, saber, and scimitar are 1d6+1.
The game is worried about what effects game balance and then everything else is pure style.
The DM in my campaign is a fan of dex based fighting and has ruled that even non-finesse weapons have the finesse quality if used 2-handed, unless the weapon also had the "heavy" quality. Seems reasonable and after all it's a game that really only needs a vague connection to reality to make sense. As long as it doesn't unbalance the game too much, we tend to let things slide for the sake of allowing players to make a character design that fits their concept.

I did a search on this sight for finesse weapons and there were 6 returns. I recall many years ago finding stats for all sorts of weapons.
Now I have darts, whip, rapier, dagger, and etc.
So are things like Sabre, Cutlass, Epee, Katana just using the one stat of longsword or shortsword? Essentially a naming convention?

Fair enough. Thanks. (Let me tell you why a Katana is 2d12.... remember that conversation?)
LMAO, I remember having a huge argument about Ninjato vs traditional Katana as well.

I can appreciate just having 2 types of weapons. Easier to manage. Players always want super crazy powered special weapons.
