Hey, I was just playing around with new potential character builds for upcoming campaigns and I had a query. Can bombs count as thrown weapons for someone using the thrown weapon fighting, like is there any synergy there at all?
So, I've recently been looking at the wording on thrown weapons, especially as it pertains to the new (Tasha's) features.
My answer would be No. The [equip]bomb[/equip] item doesn't have you make an attack action or say it's an Improvised Weapon. You just do what it says in the description, as an Action (the Use an Item action).
Other items that say you make an Attack -- such as acid, holy water, etc -- call it an Improvised Weapon. Not a 'ranged weapon', and they don't have the Thrown property.

Nope, they're classed as adventuring gear and don't make attack rolls but instead trigger a dex save.
