I've drafted a world known as Howlrun. In this world are 7 Kingdoms. A calendar resembling close to Harptos running on the same 10day week pattern with new monthly titles. These realms need writers!
1 of 7 realms has been drawn out. Basic outline of content created (much more to explore/create). This Kingdom is known as Dvorak [Dee-vor-ack].
Dvorak realm has 3 provinces. One province named Venya [Ven-yah] is the focal point for now. I have some notable NPCs and one plotline. Hoping to add several and come up with some campaign quest chains.
The realm is feudalism, containing a Noble Hierarchy as the ultimate rulers. A military faction, magic faction, religious faction, historic faction, and some baddie factions. Typically what you'd see in any realm.
Players will begin by selecting a Race and Class as per normal. Then rather than picking a D&D Background you would choose one of our roles: Noble, Soldier, Commoner, Acolyte, or Scholar. Each having multiple options on which way they can be played. If you have an idea to add, please check in with our team to perhaps add into our guidebook.
This will be a West-Marches when operational. Quests complete earn experience. Not by kill, comparable to a milestone approach in this regard. Downtime Activity is being considered as reaping experience too for those who love roleplay and less combat, being a town player never has been so interesting if you challenges and experience is still achievable.
If you are one that is flexible and can spin off a story from existing content (means you would have to actually read, learn, and adapt to content already made) I'd love extra co-DMs or story writers.
Are you paying people to write this material for you? If so, how much?
As mentioned in my first post. "Extra DMs" you wouldnt be writing the material for me, you would be writing it with me. That is certainly one way to cast it in a different light. :/
Entertainment purposes only. I'll entertain the question though: No, not paying. My feeling is, if we put effort into it and think it's strong, there's no harm putting it up on DriveThruRPG or something and see what happens. This is not the overall goal though :)
It's just that some might be interested, but that depends on just how much stuff you will need to help develop or fit the region and setting you're establishing?

I began with an opening document. Chances are it will need to be reworked a few dozen times as we go, lol. I also have a world map, 1 of 7 realm maps, 1 province map within that realm. Maps and Docume t I can provide in Discord or once I learn of creating this thread, maybe an option to share there.
If I can add it to this thread or a pm then I will help.
I'd appreciate that. Anything helps! I can feed information here on top of our Discord server for now consider we just starting at things are a bit slow as we build momentum.
The post above shows a link to a document that presents a brief overview. I have another in the works that I could post in a few days :)
You'd probably get a lot more free feedback, ideas, and suggestions if you posted what you already have so people can gauge whether or not it's a style of content they feel interested in contributing their time towards.
I say this as someone who tends to post very long posts with lots of ideas, who has literally a dozen+ notebooks overfull with D&D ideas, campaign building, worldbuilding, lore, etc, (for only 5 campaigns, all but 1 of which are set in the same world across vast ages of time), who adores helping others with worldbuilding as long as I find the base concepts interesting, and as someone who works exclusively in the homebrew realm.
If you don't want to divulge too many details for the unnecessary fear of "idea theft" you should at least post what some of the themes, genres, and base concepts are. Is the main hook a feudalistic war? How modern is it compared to the "average" fantasy game? How prevalent is magic, religion, divinity? What is the core theme of the main story you're trying to tell? Or are you trying to worldbuild here for a large setting that multiple games can be set in (as I do with my own world)? Stuff like that.
Also, people are more likely to discuss ideas with you in a thread then go out of their way to add you on Discord to do the same. (And not everyone has Discord, apparently.)

Valid points. I'll update my original post. Thank you! Although the amount of content might be overbearing on a thread. I'll provide the link to my gmbinder document I've been working on. For those that only want to key notes here.
I'm so sorry if this is irrelevant but I recently saw people doing the dice map creating and I thought that would be super helpful and totally cool since you have so much to still map out.
Just thought I'd mention that in case you weren't thinking of it or something.
I don't know how helpful I could be but I do have the story information open and plan to look it over and see if I felt like I could contribute in any way.
I recently saw people doing the dice map creating and I thought that would be super helpful...
Never heard of Dice Map. If you are willing to lend a hand in any way though I'd be super grateful. You have Discord? Best way to transfer Docs and Images.
So you're looking for some people to help with worldbuilding? The creative side of DND is where I'm at my strongest. I admittedly don't have a lot of experience DMing- I've only actually hosted a single one-shot, plus some scattered ideas for possible games (and a lot of what I have written is on the more humorous side) but I have a lot of free time and I'd be open to building an interesting world.
I've already sent you a request. Discord handle John Hitchcock#3247

Still hot in pursuit for anyone interested :)
How much can you reveal?
It's just that some might be interested, but that depends on just how much stuff you will need to help develop or fit the region and setting you're establishing?

Mostly nocturnal
help build a world here

Tchau for now.

Give me stories! Muhaha.
Giving this post a bump! :)
