Hey guys, I have a campaign going on with my family, set in Runeterra. They started in Bilgewater (not with dark tides, I started BEFORE it came out), and have now moved to Ionia, looking for a group of hags, after hearing a prophecy. They have gone, and I have created a settlement as a home base, and they have set out to find the first coven of hags (I know what I am doing with the hags, and I'm set on it). So, where do I take it next? I had an idea for a wanderer in the woods to give them all magic weapons /items, in return for all the magic items they have accumulated (they are level 5, and yet I've given them quite a lot of common stuff), except for the one they started with (a common magic item). I haven't done the campaign in a while, due to making a homebrew class, and just being out of ideas (if you want to help with my class, it's on the story and lore forums, named 'Rune Scribe homebrew class'. You may have to go back a few pages though). Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Do your family have good backstories? When ever I run a campaign I sit down with my PC's for a few hours each and figure out something cool. They're great because when you run out of ideas you can always lean back on a backstory. E.g: character was an orphan and they've had a long time goal to go find their parent. If that doesn't work just make some short adventures and they're bound to find something they want to do, think they've cracked some huge mystery that never even existed (player: "the _______ (insert villain name) is doing this so we need to go here to do this!!!" DM "yeeeesss, thats riggghht....) , or get in trouble.... Anyway even if these were thing you already thought of, no fear, things come to us as DM's just as they need to. You'll think of something great, I'm sure!
Thanks. They don't have super backstory, more like a sentence or so (we are focusing on combat and exploration, but they do enjoy the odd RP). I'll try some of it.

If that doesn't work u can always just take some inspiration from other adventures you've seen or heard of run. It's never a bad idea to take inspiration or just use the whole thing if your totally out of ideas.
If you are still feeling stuck on this I often try to put in a slight twist based off what happened (or you expect) at the climax of your last storyline. I helps to make the PCs feel contencted to the new storyline but can give you a fresh change of environment or enemy to mull over.
For instance if they defeat the hags, what measures would an ageless hag have in place in the event of their death? Has she cursed one of the PCs and needs to go to a far temple to have it removed, has their death weakened the walls of reality for a larger threat to emerge?
