Perhaps one of the most interesting mechanics of the the Scribe Wizard is the ability presented by their “Awakened Spellbook” to substitute the damage type of their casted spells with that of another spell.
The only requirement being: the damage type MUST be of the spell slot level you expend.
For example, you could upcast “Burning Hands”, and expend a high-level spell slot like “Synaptic Static” to inflict psychic damage...
This obviously leads to very unique-looking spells that would otherwise be limited to the original damage types.
I thought it might be fun for people to share some Awakened spell-combinations that they have demonstrated in their game sessions.
Describe the two spells you used to create the desired effect, what the spell looked like in gameplay, and what it was used on.
I havn't played with this character yet, as it's going to be used shortly in an upcoming campaign - but I'm playing a goblin scribe wizard who had killed a wizard and taken his spell book. So because of this the awakened spell book's personality is attempting to tell him how to correctly cast spells (Think clippy as a spell book), but because goblin he's ignoring it and casting spells however he wants it to be (for the damage swap).
The spell I'm looking forward to is Earthen Grasp, and combining it with Dragon's Breath. "Okay book, grab that guy! ... Okay good, now make it on FIRE." Basically, I see him as casting that way, or getting into arguments with the book as it attempts to cast spells "correctly" instead how he wants it.

Love that concept!

This should be very interesting...
