There are a ton of resources on the web going into different uses for minor illusion but hope I to see what happens when restrictions on minor illusion are relaxed just a little bit instead of minor illusion let's look at improved minor illusion and given that the character is an illusionist we can have the appropriate levels applied malleable as well as illusory reality.
Some things become possible such as
1.) as a cantrip it won't drop the illusion spell
2.) I believe most GM's would allow an improved minor illusion to be dynamic instead of a static image but that might be debated
3.) as a cantrip, it has fewer restrictions with Quickened spells while providing more power than the typical cantrip
It was a tongue in cheek comment, I know what the OP is talking about. The OP is suggesting that Improved Minor Illusion is not good enough even with the fact you can create a sound and image. Hence my cheeky suggestion of Major Illusion lol.
In hindsight I probably should have said Improved Improved Minor Illusion :D

I can assure you that of all people the OP is most surprised to be told that he is suggesting that.
Perhaps it would be better to stick to the OP's actual words to identify what he is suggesting? That is if you don't object _too_ strongly to the suggestion that you avoid trying to mind read the OP?
2.) I believe most GM's would allow an improved minor illusion to be dynamic instead of a static image but that might be debated
From the way I read it that seems to imply you want the Improved Minor Illusion to be buffed a little bit more. If that was not what you meant then I offer my apologies for misinterpreting what you said.
But a dynamic illusion is basically what Major Illusion does.

If you take your time and _carefully_ read what I wrote, you will see that it doesn't say anything about what I want. It simply says, and this can be tricky so you need to pay attention, but it simply says that I believe most GMs would allow an improved minor illusion to be dynamic instead of a static image, but whether they should / would do so might be debated.
Incidentally, comparison to a major illusion is misguided because Major Illusion has many advantages over an Improved Minor Illusion; it has a larger area of effect, it can have a thermal illusion, it has a longer duration, it can be upcast, you aren't limited to one at a time, and it can become permanent.
As I have already said before I offer my apologies if I misinterpreted what you meant.
In your original post you were wondering about the uses of Minor Illusion if the restrictions were relaxed a little bit. That coupled with your example of allowing a dynamic instead of static image led me to believe that you considered Minor Illusion to not be powerful enough.
And I totally agree that Major Illusion has many advantages over Minor Illusion. That was part of the reason why I made the tongue in cheek comment in the first place. It was because I thought you wanted Minor Illusion to be more in line with Major Illusion.
You have cleared up this issue, and my response was merely trying to explain why I thought what I thought. Was there really a need to critique my reading abilities with a follow up post?
And with said that I wish you a good day Sir/Madam.

Oh my Last Post was simply a tongue in cheek comment

I have no idea what this means.
There's no text in Improved Minor Illusion saying this, but I'll point out that sounds are intrinsically dynamic, so the ability definitely allows for more dynamism. I doubt any GM would agree with you, though, since you're asking for the L6 subclass benefit at L2, just in a spell-specific way.
Sure, if you pick up Quickened, but there aren't any very good ways for a Wizard to do this.

With regard to #1, I miswrote that. I was thinking about a couple of different things and they got cross-wired. What I had in mind was that Malleable Illusions doesn't break an Invisibility spell. You can cast an Improved Minor Illusion, go Invisible, then apply Malleaable Illusions to alter IMI without breaking the invisibility.
With regards to #2, I meant that a GM is likely to an Improved Minor Illusion cast by an Illusionist of at least class level six to be visually dynamic provided the Illusionist applies Malleable Illusions on it (the alternative would be for such a levelled Illusionist to be able to update the appearance of the Improved Minor Illusion only once per round).
With regards to #3, you'd probably have to multiclass to Sorcerer

Improved Minor Illusion already exists in the game...its called Major Illusion.
No, it's a subclass feature Illusionist Wizards get, whereby they can create both a sound and an image with a single casting of the cantrip.
