Simple Build that is thematic rather than technical that is available to everyone aiming to subclass into a Bladesinger.
Race: I pick the Tortle here for the grapple and AC but the core of the build doesn't rely on it.
Crux of the build is having your bat familiar out while you cast and concentrate on the fog spell or have an uncorked eversmoking bottle on you/darkness spell cast on an item on you. You have blind sight via the bat's echo location while you attack your enemies in melee. Have your bat flitter about in the heavy obscured area so that it's not stationary and potentially in fireball's AOE range.
The Tortle race adds another layer of flavour to the build - all the enemies will see is a smoke/fog/darkness appearing then an unknown creature reaching out and dragging their companions into the fog followed by chomping/slashing sounds. Bonus points if you wear the Dread Helm while doing all this.
Full build:
Race: Tortle Stats: 15+2 STR, 08 DEX, 15 CON, 15+1 INT, 8 WIS, 8 CHA Level 1: Wizard -> lightning lure cantrip + 2 others, fog + find familiar (Bat) + 4 other level 1 spells of your choice Level 2: Blade Singer -> your choice of spells Level 3: Blade Singer -> Darkness but Pyrotechnics is often overlooked but consider it if you already have a lamp hooked on your character for no concentration stationary obscured AOE. Level 4: Choose Skill Expert STR+1 (Athletics if you don't already have it, Athletics expertise) for high grapple chance or go +2 INT to bump your INT mod to +4.
tips: take 1 level of fighter for blind fighter to have 10 ft. of blind sight in the event your familiar dies.
Similar to the darkness/Devil sight combo - be aware of team members when using this build as it can lower the fun factor if you're the only one built to function in heavily obscured areas.
Spells that work with this build: Cloud of Daggers and like spells are great when fighting grappled creatures if you use the pyrotechnics spell or have the eversmoking bottle on you.
Largest issue with the idea is it takes an action to see through a familiar's senses. So you don't have an action to attack with.
If you got some neat Bonus Action you're fighting with please do tell. I'm not seeing it in the OP.

I'm probably laughing.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.

NPC to the fog cloud "Who are you!?"
Voice behind them"......I'm Bat-Tortle!"
Looks like a fun twist on the usual darkness shennanigans.
