This serpentine scroll is inscribed with coiling script and ink infused with alchemical venom. Created by Yuan-Ti cultists to detect threats to their sacred bloodlines, it pulses faintly with residual ophidian magic. A spellcaster who studies the scroll for 1 hour gains arcane insight into the detect poison and disease spell, as encoded in the ancient yuan-ti rite.
Once learned, the spell does not count against your known or prepared spells. You may cast it only as a ritual (if you have the Ritual Caster trait) or using a spell slot at its base level. The spell requires no material components when cast using this knowledge.
If the spell requires a saving throw or attack roll, you use a spell save DC of 13 and a +5 spell attack bonus.
The spell knowledge lingers for 7 days before it fades from your mind, unless refreshed by studying the scroll again.
