While this item is equipped and attuned the creature which has it equipped gains the following:
[Boon of the First Map]
The creature with the map gains advantage on checks made to locate creatures and locations that they have at least a basic knowledge of, they also gain a +5 to such checks.
The creature with the map equipped gains immunity to any effect that based in illations of/including the terrain around them.
The creature with the map is unable to be effected by teleportation magic against their will, this including spells that would move the creature to a different plane.
[Setting of the Stones]
As a bonus action the rings of the map can be turned to bring to life a different reality warping effect, the longer a effect is active the stronger it grows. For each round that a effect is active its range increases by 10ft up to a max increase of 60ft, the DC of each effect also increases by 1 for every round that it is active for upto a extra 6 on the effects DCs.
- [Shattered Grounds] When a creature attempts to move using one of the following (Walking, Swimming, Climbing, Burrowing) within 40ft of the map it is considered as very difficult terrain reducing movement speed to 1/3. After a creature finishes movement that passes though this area of effect they must make a DC 18 constitution saving throw, on a failed save the creature takes 8 (2d4+2) force damage for every 5ft moved.
- [Compacted Realm] In exchange for half of the users movement once per turn they may change place with a target within 30ft of the map as a free action, both creatures evolved in this teleportation must make a DC 18 wisdom save. On a failed save creatures take 36 (4d12+8) psychic damage.
- [Binding Forces] Creatures within 30ft of the map are unable to move more than their base movement speed, when creatures attempt to dash or teleport they must make a DC 18 wisdom save. On a failed save the creatures action fails and they take 24 (3d12+6) force damage, on a successful save the creatures action is used as normal.
- [Sin of the Static] When a creature within 30ft of the map has not moved more than 10ft this round and their turn ends spears of bone and blood shoot up from the ground within a 10ft wide and 20ft high cylinder (does not increase over time) area of the triggering creature. Any creature within the area of the spears must make a DC 18 dexterity save, on a failed save the creature is impaled and takes 3d8+4 magical piercing damage also on the creatures next turn their speed is halved. On a successful save the creature only takes half damage.
[Declaration of the Lost Path] [4/Day, Recharge 6]
As a action target a point within 60ft, and creature within 20ft of that point is effected by the banishment spell with a spell save DC of 20.
[Declaration of the True Path] [1/Week]
As a action the creature with the map equipped may teleport to any location in their current plane that is not magically protected from teleportation spells of 8th level.
If the map is unable to effect its creator "rozealt the rotten traveller" un-willingly with any of its effects.
