Description: This item appear like a regular black ring with runes carved on the inside, activating them reveals its true nature, a hidden weapon made of a smoke like substance that hardens resembling steel.
Black Blade: Once activated, the ring summons a shadow dagger that can be used to attack like its regular counterpart, dealing 1d4+4 slashing or piercing damage in melee or just regular damage when thrown.
Black kunai: If used in ranged weapon attacks the blade will detach and disappear once it hits or misses the target immediately reappearing on the ring afterwards without any action by the wielder. If thrown in to a shadow it will remain there wielder may use a bonus action to recall the weapon or shadow step into that shadow followed with a stealth roll dagger has 3 charges per long rest The weapon can be dismissed at any time without needing any action to do so.
Hidden Weapon: Only an Investigation check (DC 18) can spot the true nature of the ring, however creature that can detect magic may also use Insight with the same DC but rolled with advantage to understand the purporse of the item.
Magical variant: This weapon should count as a +1 magical dagger, however it can be upgraded by a capable blacksmith and/or wizard.
Upon reaching +2 the dagger can be improved to deal another 1d4 of damage. Upon reaching +3 the dagger can be infused with negative energy to convert part of all the damage made into necrotic damage.
Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
