WYNDREAVER

Forged not in a furnace, but in the heart of a dying sky serpent, Wyndreaver, is a shard of tempest given form. Its edge is not sharpened steel, but solidified wind, and a faint rumbling echoes from its core. It craves the violent rush of battle just as it does soaring through the air. Wyndreaver is the spirit of a sky serpent imprisoned within a dagger. Though it lacks a way of communicating with you, its power can still be called upon.

It seems this weapon is incomplete.


WEAPON PROPERTIES

 You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. When using this weapons ranged property, it can be thrown accurately up to 60ft. or up to 90ft. with disadvantage. On a hit, a ranged attack deals an extra 3d6 thunder damage to the target.

RETURNING (PASSIVE / BA)

Prerequisite: Attunement to Wyndreaver

When successfully making a ranged attack with the dagger, it will immediately return to your hand, no action needed.

On a hit: The impact of the dagger is accompanied by an audible crack of thunder as it bursts apart and reforms in your hand almost instantaneously. You sense excitement from Wyndreaver.

On a Miss: The dagger clatters to the ground and slowly dissipates, its connection to you momentarily disrupted. You sense confusion and disappointment from Wyndreaver. You may expend a bonus action to recall the dagger.

TEMPEST (ACTION) (1/LR)

While attuned to the dagger, you can attempt to harness some of Wyndreaver’s chaotic energy. Make an Arcana check (DC 15).

On a Success: Turbulent winds surround your body for 1 minute. For the duration, you do not trigger opportunity attacks, you gain an additional 40ft. of movement, and ranged attacks that target you, or a creature within 5ft. of you, automatically miss and are redirected in a random direction. Roll a 1d4; the attack will fly North (1), East (2), South (3), or West (4). The attack will travel 30ft., or the remainder of the attacks range (whichever is farther). If the attack is redirected into a creature, they will become the new target of the original attack. You sense Wyndreaver is uncomfortable with having a portion of their power suddenly usurped.

On a Fail: The dagger crackles with energy and harmlessly bursts apart into the surrounding air. You can expend a bonus action, on your next turn only, to recall the dagger. You sense Wyndreaver is proud of itself for successfully eluding the daggers control.

This feature can be used only once before requiring a long rest. Failing to use TEMPEST will not expend a use.

Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
