Forged by the demi-god Loregiver, this intelligent battleaxe was crafted long ago to promote the enlightened teachings of Zakharan, a deity of honour, hospitality and the importance of family. It is now a vessel for Zakharan soul.
Zakharan is made of a reflective black stone which comes from the plane of limbo. Its edges glow with a warm green as do the large cracks on the head of the battleaxe.
You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The shield spell provides no defence against the axe, which passes through that spell’s barrier of magical force.
When you hit a fiend, an undead or someone who has died before with the battleaxe, cold green flames erupt from its blade and deal an extra 2d6 radiant damage to the target.
Necromantic sense. When you are attuned to Zakharan you can sense whether someone has died before if they are within 60ft of the battleaxe.
Cosmological Abider. If this battleaxe is used to kill someone, that person cannot use a clone to capture their soul, as to live again.
Hurling. The battleaxe has 3 charges. You can expend 1 charge and make a ranged attack with the axe, hurling it as if it had the thrown property with a normal range of 60 feet and a long range of 180 feet. Whether it hits or misses, the axe flies back to you at the end of the current turn, landing in your open hand or at your feet in your space (as you choose). The axe regains all expended charges daily at dawn.
Illumination. While holding the axe, you can use an action to cause the axe to glow green or to quench the glow. This glow sheds bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet.
Sentience. Zakharan is a sentient lawful neutral weapon with an Intelligence of 12, a Wisdom of 15, and a Charisma of 15. It has hearing and darkvision out to a range of 60ft feet.
The weapon communicates telepathically with its wielder and can speak, read, and understand Common. It has a calm, delicate voice. The weapon can sense the presence of non-lawful creatures within 60ft feet of it.
Personality. Zakharan is sworn to protect people who display hospitality and care for their family.
Dual Harm. When the wielder of Zakharan hits with this battleaxe, they take 1 point of force damage.
Proficiency with a Battleaxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Topple. If you hit a creature with this weapon, you can force the creature to make a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 plus the ability modifier used to make the attack roll and your Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, the creature has the Prone condition.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, Damage: Radiant, person who has been to the astral plane, ether as a projection or in physical form. , Versatile, Topple
