This dagger glows with a faint greenish light while you are in a jungle or within 100 feet of a serpentine creature. The wielder gains a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with the weapon. While attuned to the Serpent's Tooth, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have resistance to poison damage, and are immune to the poisoned condition.
  • You can speak, read, and write draconic and abyssal fluently.
  • On a hit, the dagger deals an extra 1d6 poison damage.

Charges. The Serpent's Tooth has 10 charges, which can be used to cast the spells below. When you expend the dagger's last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, you take 5d10 poison damage and your attunement to the Serpent's Tooth ends. The dagger regains 1d10 charges daily at midnight.

Curse. The Serpent's Tooth is cursed. When a good creature attuned to it, they slowly become drawn to Merrshaulk. After attuning to it for 24 hours, they have disadvantage on Wisdom saving throws against being charmed by yuan-ti. After attuning to it for 10 days, they grow a forked tongue, patches of scales on their skin, and serpentine eyes. After attuning to it for 30 days, the creature becomes a yuan-ti broodguard under the DM's control. Only a wish spell can reverse the effect.

Spells. While attuned to the weapon, you can cast any of the following spells, requiring no material components: Cobra Strike (4 charges, see Appendix A), Ray of Sickness (2 charges), and Yaotal's Venomous Fang (6 charges, see Appendix A).

Proficiency with a Dagger allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
