Pulsing stops as it remains glowing at all times while the attuned being is alive and in the same plane of existence.

If the one who is attuned to the Eye is not on the same plane of existence with it, the Eye will revert back to pulsing state while the attuned color will remain.
If the one who is attuned to the Eye dies, its light fades as it dims to a dull gray forever losing its magic. The Eye cannot detect the death of its owner across the planes.

It is possible to switch ownership of the Eye before the death of its owner, using the same method.
