Weapon (handaxe), rare (requires attunement)

This steel climbing axe is covered in engravings made out to look like entangled rope. Small runes are etched into the design, which upon closer inspection feel functional yet incorrect in their application. While you are attuned to this weapon, you can use it as a magic weapon with a +1 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls. When embedded in an object or creature, the weapon can magically hold 1,000 pounds before pulling loose, but you can tug it free as normal.

Cursed. This item is cursed, and becoming attuned to it extends that curse to you until you are targeted by a remove curse spell or similar magic. While cursed, if you drop or throw this axe, you are immediately dragged to it by the most direct method possible, you drop everything you are holding in one hand of your choice, and your hand then grasps the axe. If you make a ranged attack with this weapon, the curse activates after the attack is done. You can stow the axe like normal, but the curse activates as soon as it is not on your person.

Proficiency with a Handaxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Light, Thrown, Vex
